Palos Verdes report

  • I took a 3 day of the wife and kids gone to explore some new spots around rpv. I'm bummed to report the worst 3 day's of visibility I've ever seen happen to show up too.
Abalone cove visibility was about 5 feet.
    Vets about 5 feet
The only spot I found that I could see 10 feet was below trump and that vis was only in the high water column. There were balls of Bait moving in and out but those are the only fish I saw.
These were all beach entries since I don't have a boat.

    Hope others had better luck

  • Diving PV (Palos Verdes) is all about diving PV (poor visibility)..:toast::toast:

People always say we're lucky for being close enough to it to dive it. I've never seem what's so great about it. Actually never shot a fish there.
If you've got any better spots you wanna share, I'm all ears.

Better visibility does not equal better fishing. You're diving productive areas. Learning to spearfish in marginal conditions will give you a huge competitive advantage.

  • I haven't been back down to PV since this dive, anybody know if it's settled down at all from the hurricane swell that kicked it all up?

Lots of NW wind/ground swell with the front that came through yesterday. Maybe dive conditions will improve later in the week.

    Good luck.

  • Thinking about hitting up pv tomorrow late morning for some shore diving. Mostly to explore since I haven't found a kelp stringer out there yet, thinking of diving off of trump as I heard there's a nice kelp forrest out there. Anybody been out recently? How was the fishing?

  • According to my calendar the fish should be plentiful along the LA County coast. Late morning will be a drained out low tide. Also looks like some long period south swell in the water. Might not be a good situation for the South Side of PV but its fickle and you never really know. Sometimes a pair of binoculars can shed some light on things. Let us know what you find.:thumbsup2:

    Good luck!
