Shooting 30lb+ Dolphin, found a pallet 2014

  • Triple tail, they crack me up when they try to play debris and swim flat like that

  • It played out just as it looked, f'ing around with triple tail, when I saw the triple tail spook, that is when I payed attention and picked up the dolphin almost out of range and trucking hard :) remember my camera is mounted at the end of my 65 inch gun.

  • I knew pallets would work. :D

    That's what Jake and I used on our first FAD attempt. We had that and coconut leaves tied on every 20 feet or so down to 100 feet. It was gone though when we came back the next week.

    Nice fish badehhh. ::thumbsup2:

  • hank that's probably why it was gone, that's a lot of pull on the surface, dem tings heavy when waterlogged!

  • Wishihadgills, yes they are delicious but shooting completely unafraid funny fish is hard on my soul bro :( If things are slow I have been known to shoot one for the table but otherwise I just can't bring myself to...completely silly I know.

  • Ha ha - we used to shoot the triple-tail, we called them Black Snapper, often under the corrosion test structure on the Anador causeway along the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. Very good eating but hard to spear in the almost always murky water. No guilt but I do agree that under sargasso weed and drift lines - they are too easy to shoot and I rarely shot them there. The old fish in a barrel :nono:

    Nice Dorado and nice video in some very clear water. Forgot what gun you use - Koah 65? Sure is a lot of gun but you do get some nice fish with it. 3 or 4 size 14 or 16mm bands??

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Oscar exactly "fish in a barrel" ;) koah 65 with 4 16mm bands. As a middle aged man fishing with young bucks I need all the help I can get...lol
    Also where I fish everything from big marlin to fat tuna just show up so knife to a gun fight and all that :D

  • Hardline you got it! Many times not taking the obvious in the blue leads to proper fish ;)
