I live in Alberta so unfortunately don't get in the ocean as much as I'd like.
So I hit the lakes....
Here's a few Burbot (excellent eating) and a Jackfish (Northern Pike).
This is a Splake; it's a hybrid trout I got in a tiny clear lake in Saskatchewan.
Walleye, also called Pickerel! Arguably best freshwater eating fish. Overfished here in Alberta and not legal by spear so I go to Saskatchewan.
Good stuff! I am sure that you would get a big following on these things in the Freshwater Section of the US area. Similar targets and minds over there.
Still cool - you got me excited as the idea of traveling for freshwater shooting like S. America/Africa/Asia has been in the back of my head for awhile.
Unfortunately it doesnt seem like there is an easy way to get to that sort of stuff, no guide service etc - youd have to know someone. I have found a few FW Spearos from Brazil on Instagram but communication has been difficult.
