Spearfishing wetsuit Speardiver Reef

  • Looks like real tree. I kind of like it for breaking up the divers profile. This is the only reason I like camo, or rather, why it might work.

It remind me of that boat painted like it is goin when it is coming

    i like to spear fish

  • Hey Dan - I like it and ............. I can use during duck season too :laughing3:

But seriously like Nate - I like your Pacific/Green Camo better and hope it is available when I order later this year.

  • I like it based on looking like the varied grounds of the reefs over here in Hawaii. Maybe not aesthetically as pleasing as the other patterns (2 colors or less) but I like the cream colored for the sand patches, the darker green for the coral areas, and the red just turns grey after 20 ft (currently using the speardiver predator and my partner said I disappear, kinda, after 20 ft). I'd rock it!

  • I agree with the above. I dont see it being different enough from the "green" pattern to really justify having both. The red will disappear at 20' and you probably wont be able to them apart. Although I like this one a little better because the light and dark might do a little better job of breaking up a divers profile. I still like the Reef pattern the bast but I already know the issues with that.

The Riffe camo is cool and looks great underwater. Ill see if I can find some underwater pics somewhere. It looks really weird up close and it feels like your eyes wont focus but from a few feet back it blends better. The digital camo was created to work a little better in an urban environment where the straight lines work better with the hard edges of buildings and other man made objects. The new ATACS camo would be a much better choice underwater IMO.

One thing I do like about the Riffe camo and what Spetton attempted was the versatility of blue and green. I personally only have one wetsuit and some days Ill be in clear blue water in the morning and green by the afternoon. When Im in the blue-er water I feel like a big green blob that doesnt blend in well. I know not everyone believes in the efficacy of camo but in my experience with fishing/diving and other forms of hunting have made me a believer. Besides if fish have evolved to use it, it must work to some degree and I want every advantage I can get.

  • I like it more than the Pacific wetsuit only because the yellow looks more like our dying kelp frowns as the Cali water gets warm. I would buy it......after my boat is done.;)

  • I think the broken up "areas" of the camo are awesome and look very pleasing and natural to me. However I dont like the color palette or the pattern of the camo as much as your current offerings. The pattern looks to me almost like it was all sponged on with the same sponge, very flat. And the palette I think is too "olive" for my tastes.

  • I think it's good. But I think a lot, including your other patterns are too.
The sea bottom is so diverse in colors and patterns here that anything like that breaking up a solid image will help you hide while that unsuspecting snapper is coming in to check out what just dive bombed down from the surface.

  • Very nice pattern it does a lot better job at braking up the outline than the current pattern, which like mentioned by others is the purpose of camo. I'd buy it.

  • I changed my mind some. I played with the colors in photoshop and really like the texture/pattern in different colors. (green, brown, red, grey, blue all looked cool) I think its mainly the olive color that throws me off. This is all purely from an aesthetics standpoint which is my main concern in choosing a suit color/pattern. Camo wise the palette is probably really good for a lot of stuff.

Ditto.. but its that cream colour that I cant get past at first glance and you will be selling more of them at first glance not a long considered look IMO.
I may be completely wrong as a cream or white wet suit in front(invisible from the bottom looking up, like a sharks camo) and funky as hell on the back and head to break up your silhouette if you lie on the bottom is my idea of the future, but i am

  • Dan, just got a dome & strobe for my camera setup. lmk if you want me to take some pics of it in use underwater... I like this type of pattern a lot so whatever I can do to help it get to market...

  • This should be dubbed "Cerralvo" Cammo, that is exactly how the local caves look like at 60 ft down. I like it better than brown or green cammo patterns, which are the most prevalent and which I´m not very fond of .

The variation in pattern and colors and lightning makes it a better compromise than plain cammo patterns alone IMO.

Look how the bottom look like around here. That spot ´ still one of the best for Spearfishing around ths side of the desert.
