SPETTON Hexo skin wetsuit

  • Well my friends i be selfish not to share this with you all. I got the new Spetton Hexo Skin 1.5mm 2 piece suit yesterday. And quickly went to compare it to all the otherr wetsuits i have used before. And i can tell you with all honesty how impressed i was. The wetsuit is different in a lot of aspects. The stitches around the wetsuits are very strong. You can see the good work from the inside of the suit. It fitted perfectly. It is not 1.5mm as advertise is actually 2mm. I order the #5 XL. Knowing it was a size smaller than my regular sizes, according to their size table i'm over the weight limit by quite a few pounds:rolleyes1::D. This 1.5 or 2mm stretch really good. fitting my body perfectly. So i know if i loose some weight it will be heavenly awesome, and dont need water to get in the wetsuit. Is very smooth to get in it. I was expecting for it to be unconfortable on different areas, and to my surprise it was very very very comfortable. I was concern at first with the blue color been to vivid for my taste. thinking in the future i will paint the blue to tone it down. But once i got in the water with it. the blue gets a little darker making it to blend beautifully with the other greens and brown colors on it. The pant is not a farmer john, is cut a few inches below the nipple. The small spetton logo is all over the suit. mixed with the camouflage. the big logos are not white they are a light gray. So underwater you cant spot the letters at a distance. It is a very comfortable, well cammo and well priced suit. Very happy with it. Thanks to Pablo Clausen from SPETTON USA. He was very helpfull in assisting me in ordering something i liked a lot.:thumbsup2:
Here is some pics. of the suit:
This is the wetsuit dry from behind.

here a glance at the stitches from inside the suit.

Here is the suit been wet and you might notice the tone in the blue in the wet areas and the dry area. Just a little different.

And here you can see how long the pants are done.

  • Congrats on your new suit Core. I know it's totally rude but I can't help myself and also you yourself said it. When I saw that pattern at Pablo's place a couple of weeks ago I thought it was the silliest camo pattern and colors I've ever seen. In your pics it actually looks reasonable compared to in real life. Pablo did tell me the colors get toned down in the water. The way I see it camo doesn't matter anyways so the whole purpose of it is to be pleasing to the eyes of the wearer, and that my friend it is not. For those that do like it it's also available in rash guards.

  • Thanks av001

i saw the pattern before in videos and quite a few pics. And i was aware of the weird pattern. But somethings need to be put to the test underwater to see the difference. Like i say i can always paint the blue i dont like if i need to. i have never seen a suit that is all to my taste, there is always something i dont like in them no matter what color or price they have. But this one been so damn comfortable that is a big plus. The colors blend well in the type of bottom i can get in some places in Puerto Rico. But in others where there are no sand patches will not mix good. We all know about the cammo meaning no different for the spearo. But for this cowboy i like them very much. And i always like to think that it helps some. :). Well i will recommend this suit more for been comfortable, well made & well priced more than anything. Anyways that is the 3 most important things on a wetsuit IMO. I'm very happy. With this suit. :thumbsup2:

  • Many camo patterns out there look good to the human eye, but don't really provide much in terms of breaking up the image. While I don't like the spetton camo much myself, I do recognize that it provides a really good value difference between light & dark colors. On the other hand, if you look at a suit like the hammerhead and similar patterns and squint, all you see is a dark blob.

I have no idea if camo works or not. I've used plain black suits for years with good success. That being said, I'm going to try the new Spetton suits out for my upcoming bluewater adventures. :)

  • Toledo that is the best pattern for this forum and the beginning of teh chernasub line:laughing3:

I always love cammo suits. I know you can get the same things with any suit. But i just love the way it brakes the shape of the body. For my piece of mind i always think it helps a little, so why not wear it. Still no matter what you wear, the curiosity of the fish will be his demise at the end:D

  • I've been waiting for this wetsuit to come out for some time now. Spetton wetsuits are always very well made and durable. It looks like the inside is lined, not open cell, correct me if I am wrong. I like open cell wetsuits because they are more comfortable and warmer. If the 1.5 is more like a 2, I wonder if the 2.5 is more like a 3 mm.... Can't wait to get back to FL. Thanks for the review.
