Sample pneumatic speargun

  • Marco, Greek, I have the final info on these guns. They are not Seac Sub, they're not made by Seac Sub, and they're not made for Seac Sub. Internally they're an exact copy of the Seac Sub Asso. There are slight differences in the muzzle and handle. For example the handle here is TPR coated, TPR is a nice grippy substance. I'm not sure whether the Seac Sub Asso speargun has this.

I'm curious, does anyone know what the name Asso means?

Your handle is nicer. But i knew they were exactly the same internally because i have taken them apart so many times. I would say i am very knowledgeable with mares sten, cyrano, and Seac.

If you plan on carrying pneumatics, you should get a manometer that will show at least 40 bar so you can fill with scuba tank. It makes changing the oil in gun a 5 min job.

  • An update on this speargun. I sold it a couple of months ago and just got it back. The owner told me that the gun misfired a few times while routing the shooting line over the line release. The line release puts a little pressure on the trigger but this should not be enough to fire the shaft, the trigger sensitivity adjustment screw was not tampered with. Additionally the gun lost all its air through the trigger pin. I would have tried to fix it and find what the problem is, but this is the same thing I've been hearing about the Persistent pneumatic spearguns doing, so I decided buying these guns is going to be a serious debacle and to forget about it. Heads up on the Persistent pneumatic spearguns.

  • Scary stuff, hopefully nobody was injured. Glad to see your continuing to keep pursuit gear in the upper echelon and not letting mediocre gear bear your name. :toast: just an fyi in the coming weeks I would like to buy one of your spearguns. Please PM me if/when you'll have one available along with a price.

Me too....I can see alot of applications in what I need in a gun. Plus, I think it'd be a cool Cuba gun.

  • Thank you Dan, It will get dialed in and kill some flat fish for sure. :thumbsup2:

  • I demand that amazing coating be applied to this one as well.

Don you are on danger of becoming a pure fartman

This gun is staying stock unless my Mares bits fit it.

Regarding fart guns.....if you only knew.:D:D;) Just wait for the coffee table book.

  • It's been over a year since I tested this gun. I contacted the manufacturer again and asked if they fixed the problems. It's a bit of a naive question asking for a yes answer, but the gun is really good in all other aspects so I was hoping. They said the problem was fixed and I ordered another gun to test. I'll post back with the results.
