Had to do some stupid dives for school today... on a good note 70 FSW off lauderdale was top to bottom CRYSTAL clear blue water... inshore in 30 feet was green, but very diveable. southbound current, mild.

with that current Im guesstimating the blue will push in. This was up away from port everglades, the mooring balls near sunrise beach to be exact. not too much of a spot burn persay. everyone needs clear water in their life :thumbsup2:

Yeah ive been in that area a few times and im not really a fan of that particular stretch....could just be my luck however.
-
For what its worth there were plenty of over legal mangroves in the area... and I did see the biggest dog snapper ive seen in SoFl in 30 feet.
-
Got out yesterday off lauderdale to the first reef and it was hazy to say the least. Hoping it clears up some before Wednesday! Didnt see any fish out worth shooting...
-
Seems like lauderdale is not where its at anymore...
ill be out wednesday in miami for grouper opener. forecast is looking fantastic so far.

Hollywood from 5:15 til dark. Hazy top to bottom greenish vis in 70-75ft, opened up nice on the bottom but the sinking sun and clouds in the west made it pretty dark. Didn't notice any current, despite the full moon. 1-2ft chop on the surface with the occasional 3ft roller. Got a 22ish inch mutton and a cookie cutter mangrove.
On a side note, today was the first day I got to use my new fiberglass blades from Dan. The performance was everything I wanted and more, I couldn't possibly be more pleased. Thanks Dan

Nice report, wish I'd been with ya.

Solo in Hollywood today 5:00-dark. Surface was glass, vis top to bottom in ~85ft. Ripping northbound current. Red grouper and a big porgy. Saw the biggest hammerhead I've ever seen in the water, he couldn't care less about me.
The vis yesterday in the same spot was stellar, today it was downright amazing.. tomorrow, I bet more of the same. Tomorrow is that day that only comes a handful of times a year I think, go dive.

Yesterday in 85~
As he said, Nate got to go back today :rolleyes1: -
Awesome pics, thanks.

Does someone have a short hole gun I can borrow for tomorrow.
So I can reach the trigger with it pointed at me.
Super busy this whole week/weekend of course the diving is epic. Looks beautiful out there. Thanks for the report I think.
