virgili that is one beautiful sail, where is the CR coast?

Here is my biggest AP, it happens to be the current IUSA WR at 55 lbs. I shot it at 65'over a wreck on the first dive of the day. I thought I would throw in a couple of my partners. The cobia is the current IUSA WR and he used to have the black grouper WR until about 18 months ago. We're blessed with great fish down here.

Damn. Nice fish. :thumbsup2:

Also the guy photo bombing your fish shot is hikariois!!

I was a tad bit lucky with this fish. I had just finished a dive to about 75 fsw when the school of YJ's followed me back to the surface. I had no idea they had come up as I still had my head above water when buddy Luis (the photobomber) yelled at me. Dove back down to about 20 fsw and and stoned this guy. If I hadn't have stoned him it would have gotten pretty interesting as I was in no condition to fight that size jack and he might have gotten down to the wreck.
That was a pic from spring break a few weeks ago. Im pretty sure all that meat is gone.

Very nice shot placement.

This is kind of cheating since you Florida guys can't shoot these. But they are legal in Belize. 2009 I believe, a few weeks before Willy was born because I remember a very pregnant Araceli filleting it perfectly.
We didn't weigh it but neither Jake, Pancho, Jorge (aka the Spaniard) or I could lift it off the deck of the boat completely. Minimum weight guess, 140 lbs. (I weigh about 180) Goliath Grouper. This was a while ago. Shot with my Riffe Baja Plus. Floatline. When I hit the fish it pulled the gun out of my hand like you pulling your finger from a baby's grip. Jake saw the floater go ripping across the water from the boat. But the fish died pretty quick. We at it for about 3 months. There were three of them. This was the smallest and was swimming last in the line. I've been to this spot many times since but never seen other goliaths there.

Much larger than this and the meat gets coarse. I have speared many but largest landed was 352 pounds. Hank what is the Riffe Baja speargun? I thought I knew all of the different Riffe spearguns?
Nicely done. Looks like you have the perfect Panda for where you dive.

I just saw the thread

Amazing fish!!!
Is that bigger than jims? I can't remember if his was just over 50 or just over 60? Harry will probably know.
-
Xan, Do you remember the length on that YJ? I shot one off Elliot last mini season that was close to that size but I never weighed him.
-
Thanks oscar. I was quite lucky that day. Fish were pretty thick and the water was remarkably clear.
Lunker, not sure about Jim's fish. It was the biggest one I've gotten by 25lbs
