Correct on the Visible light dropping out red first as the sunlight goes thru the water.
(ROYGBIV) visible spectrum. aka rainbow with refracted light on water vapor.
Fish see in the UV spectrum better than we do. the violet color is color band closest to UV.
Dan take a look at your colors with a black light and see how they look, Poor man's way to look at reflection of lower Visible spectrum. Might help in color choices.
