I couldn't find any footage of this thing actually being used. Do you think it will work?
Scooter powered body board for spearfishing

It's a gas powered scooter? Sweet!

He doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Its a cool idea but it would depend on what kind of run time were talking. Id hate to swim more crap back to shore if or when it dies.

Here's more info. Being gas powered it obviously can't be submerged like the electric scooters. But I don't want to use it to dive, only to get to spots and back to the launching point. In the video they state 15 miles on one tank of fuel. I'd like to see how it performs in chop.

Here we go.. looks like fun. I question what will happen if it tips over and that intake tube catches some water, for $800 I'm not going to find out. Looks like this scooter has been around for many years.

I bet with all the weight hanging under the float it probably really stable as far as flipping. the set up in that video looks perfect. would be great for shore dives.

Noisy as hell though, and smokes too. Kinda goes against the "zen" of spearfishing. Maybe a battery powered one would work better. Looks like in days gone by it was popular enough to make this contraption.

looking at electric scooters most do 2-3 mph, have a 90min run time and cost about the same. you can get a kayak and electric motor for a little more....
