I think this video is part of a series put out by Yeti. It contains freedive spearing and bowhunting adventures with an emphasis on the culinary benefits of harvesting fresh game.

I think that's the only episode with spearfishing. I wondered before if spearfishing is possible with one arm.

I remember seeing a US patent some years ago that was for a one-armed diver to use. It was similar to a hinge gun layout where the spear projects out either end of the gun with the grip handle in the middle and bands stretching back to a tail cap driver fitted on the rear of the spear. At first I wondered what was new as such guns have been around seemingly forever, but here the trigger worked in reverse. You held it depressed when the gun was cocked and the gun only fired when you let the trigger go. So basically the diver put the spear in the gun and pushed it against something hard like a rock to cock it. Then he swum around with it cocked until he saw something to shoot when he released his grip. The patent diagram even showed a one-armed diver using it. I cannot say that I thought that this was a good idea, but I just mention it as the patent was granted. I actually had a copy of it, but right now I cannot locate it.

Check this gun out created for a disabled female diver which uses a custom-made winch to cock the gun with one hand.

A real feel good story which showed great generosity and ingenuity in allowing someone to be able to enjoy a sport that previously was beyond their ability to participate in.

There is a very good spearo in Venezuela that lost his arm when he was a kid. He has a little 1 foot pice from the shoulder. Actually, he is a scuba and freediving/spearfishing instructor. He uses pneumatic spearguns.
Recently, he went into a prostate cancer surgery...
