I always used the sporasub instinct reel with my rob allens. You have to mount it as close to the handle as possible then you just loop the mono like you normally would to the release arm. At the end the mono is running parallel to the base of the reel with a small offset . I don't have any pictures of it since I don't have my guns with me right now, hope you get the idea.

I think that the black wetsuit is warmer when you are in the sun and out of the water. The black color of the wetsuits absorbs more heat keeping you warmer. Once you are in the water color doesn't really matter anymore as far as temperature goes. I've heard good things about those Imersion wetsuits but I never had one up close to really check it out.

Like I said Dan, you don't use reels so is hard for you to picture it. The only way to do it with a reel is to keep the drag really tight which is a big risk because if you shoot a descent size fish it will take off with the gun or it will burn the drag system of the reel. I have used RA, Aimrite, Seacsub X-Fire, Omer and Beuchat without bungees without problems. The line release arm on all of these guns is completely free after being fired. They go back to position when you put the shaft back into the trigger mech. The demka system release arm is only free for a a split millisecond. I think that is the problem. You mentioned it your self in post # 3. I don't know if continuing to hold the trigger down after firing fixes, I don't think I ever tried it but it should be necessary. Pablo is aware of the issue, he contacted Demka and the bungee is what they told them. Your gun doesn't have this problem you can clearly see that the arm is completely free after firing in the video you posted on the "sneak peak" thread of yours.

Yeah, that's what happens. The line release catch pops back after the shaft leaves the trigger mech. So, if there is no tension on the mono to remove it from the catch (in that small time frame) it stays caught on the release arm.

I had demka spearguns aka spetton spearguns. They are VERY accurate but the line release is garbage. Joe my dive buddy had one too and he had the same issues. Jualian and Harolf Dean had issues with the line release. Specially if you are using a reel since it doesn't keep a lot of tension on the line release. If the gun is hooked to a float line and the mono has a strong bungee then it works fine. Julian told me about a little grinding he had to do internally to get it to work right. The mono would catch on the line release after firing limiting the range of the gun greatly. The system is not fast enough to release the mono unless it has a bungee on it. Other than that is very comfortable and durable.

I guess I've been very lucky with sharks. I've seen many bulls and some large HH in relatively shallow water. From my experience poking a shark that is eating your fish from your stringer or a fish that holed up has no effect what so ever. I think once they are in that feeding mode it takes a lot to get their attention. I learned this after shooting a big mangrove snaper. It went under a ledge and a big nurse came in and decided it was hers to keep. We poke it several times as hard as possible but nothing. In that particular case I would not PH the shark since it is not posing a threat to me I would just change spot. I always try to have a PH just in case, I do not hesitate to let them have it if they get too close like in that video where the guy is touching with the tip of the spear. That's why I hate stringers so much. I try to get the fish out of the water ASAP. There is always someone that is willing to drive the boat in exchange for a good time at sea with friends and fish. Those that have dived with me before know I have great respect for sharks specially in bad viz. I don't know how Rolo does it, diving in those wrecks up north filled with fish AND sharks. I guess when you do it often enough you learn to ignore it.

Yeah, the tendons will mold fine but I don't want to brake the blades by forcing their angled end into straight pockets. I just want to make sure it is duable before I ruin these footpockets. I rather sell the fins and buy other footpockets. I was told Pepin had done it before but who knows.

I have a set of Seacsub Fibrex fins. These fins are a bit too soft for my taste but the footpockets are very comfortable. I want to use these footpockets on different blades but the problem is that seacsub blades and footpockets are straight all the way, no angle at all. I was told that if I put the footpockets in boiling water for 5 min I could arc the footpocket enough without damaging it. Anyone ever heard of such a thing or should I just give up and find different footpockets?

That is great to hear. I am a firm believer of hoods regardless of water temperature. I was asking you about the stitching on the wrists because Picasso used to have a wetsuit called ghost mimeticall that had it and it restricted how much it will stretch when putting it on and eventually would rip out. Spetton has the hood, wrists and ankles with a plain cut and it worked great. Thanks for the pictures.

Man that suit looks great!!!!!!! Tell me you are going to be carrying it in 3 mm please. Is the outside smooth or is it nylon? Are the edges of the wrists stitched or not? How about knee pads? Sorry about the questions but I am really looking forward to the whole line-up.
