SLiptip Question

  • I recently came upon a speargun. I took it to a shop to get rigged and the owner told me he'd set me up.

I went to pic kit up and noticed that the sliptip did not lock into the male adapter. I asked the owner about it and he told me no prob I could secure it by pulling the steelcable through the guide ring and the male adapter, and then tuck the steel line between two of the loded bands. I was in a hurry so I paid and split.

I don't like adjusting the front end of any loaded weapon.

Is this a common set up or did the owner just throw together parts to get the job done?

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Pictures would be a help but it doesnt seem like what your describing is too far off from a common rigging. The sliptip rests on the tip and there is a line that is tucked in between the loaded bands to hold it in place. Someone else may be able to explain it a little better though.

    Good luck.
