I belive my kit is very similiar. Are you saying the new slider cone is 3g lighter than the picture that says devoto on it? My slider is coned shaped like the pictures above. Is that slider that says devoto one you made? Could it be used in place of the cone for bettrr line attachment?
Tomba700 steel cone and plastic slider are in weight about the same as devoto on the picture above. But according to measurement that I did, mine is much more hydrodynamic then devoto. I had 49 % more energy on 5 m than with devoto. You can hardy estimate it from the picture without measurement. The main difference to your is that this new is easier to load. There is less friction if you bend the shaft during loading it. If you cut one of you plastic sliders (remove the line tying part) you would have interface to the O-ring, so you might use devoto slider after it. I suppose with new plastic slider tying to it will be more secure. I will use a piece of this line on the picture, instead of mono line.
A knot like this might be an alternative to constrictor knot for new shape plastic slider. I believe it could be used with the previous shape of plastic slider that was for mono 1 mm, too.
It would not over tighten the neck of plastic slider and will be very reliable and more hydrodynamic than constrictor. I had not finished tying it strong so you can see how to tie it.
I was using the plastic bullet shaped slider where you had to tie nylon then you can attach the mono to it. This is not strong enough for grouper/large fish. Also, when there is a lot of pressure the o-ring between the slider and the metal peice that centers the shaft in the muzzle gets squeezed out. What new slider/sealing system are you getting from him? Maybe I will send him an e-mail.
New Tomba700 for Aibalete will be shipped to Don soon. It is lighter than the old, about 3 g (cone, slider). The old was about 8 g. This would make it possible to shoot the gun on 30 bar and more (11 mm piston, 7 mm shaft). Bonding to the slider will be more secure for big fishes too, I believe. Sealing is similar to old. The problem with O-ring to be squeezed out under high force (more than 500 N) would probably remain. You should have some spare with you in case of catching big fishes. I suppose the loading of the shaft would be more smooth. That are the news.
Great stuff Tromic.
Cheers, Don
Thanks Don!
I hope I will have it ready soon.
Cheers, Tomislav
This might be a new Tomba65S, for 6.5 mm shaft. Difference to the previous design of Tomba11, Tomba12 is that centring of the shaft is done with cone part of the slider so the stainless steel ring need not to be cone shape. This way the steel ring might be even shorter and lighter and the loading should be smoother (S). My idea is to tie constrictor knot on the slider body with 1.5 mm spectra. Cone part of the slider has ID 6.6 mm while the rest is 6.7 mm. OD of the slider is 12 mm.
what is molded on the handle? Looks good.
It is from an Italian forum: http://www.pescasubacquea.net/public/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=9680&start=135
Another good idea:
What's wrong with the original?
Affects the trigger. With a new, line has better position, more parallel and closer to the gun.
This Tomba11E (Tomba11 easy) for new Mares Sten 11 for 7 mm shaft.
It uses O-ring 11 x 6 x 2,5 mm.
Some tiny modifications to the Loader:
This is Omer's loader for long pneumatics.
Expanding the possibilities of Easy loader. No wraps of spectra round the shaft are necessary, what makes loading of free shaft convenient too. Also safe unloading is possible.

This is a tiny specta-knot slider. I suppose it is strong enough and highly hydrodynamic. I believe this slider will have less drag on the shaft than a "free shaft".
This is Tomba7F/10. It is supposed to work in different mods. I've tested all the mods except the first on the picture, without O-ring on the shaft.
This is my son Marko making new TombaF7 - Free shaft Tomba adapter for Cyrano.

It is better to use rubber tubing for closing muzzle relief ports. This is a good idea how to make it.
