Does anybody have a recipe for Lobster Ravioli without crab meat? Is it a filler or does it enhance the flavor ? Also do any of you guys have any luck with sheep crab or kelp crab?

Definatly cooking it, the wife wont touch uncooked local fish . She's weird like that.

To the best of my knowledge the urchins eat the kelp steadfasts which anchore the kelp to the rocks or reef and if their numbers arn't kept in check they can tun areas into deserts .

So mabe I'm just out of the loop or this is a scare tactic ? I have found no information on this on the internet . Are they visible worms ? Will they die from freezing ? Is it true all Cabezon have worms ? Any insight would be awesome . Thank you guys :confused1:

"we decided" 😱no killing of fish(she doen't dive)but I got to dive with a massive manta ray as my wife watched me and it disapear into the blue. Until that expirience she didn't understand this obsession of mine.

hi Ashley , the wife and i went to Maui for our moneymoon last year and we had the time of our life.I don't if this would. be your thing but we did the costco package and it was eight days and cost $1400 per person with plane ticket, but we did not stay in bungalows it was The Royal Lahina Resort . So I went to Boomers yesterday at 2p.m looking for yellowtail(yeah right) or white seabass (no chance) and upon entering the water I find a speargun befor I put on my fins .So I attach the gun to the end of my floatline (not the smartest idea)and drag it through the reef , after grabbing (and releasing)a couple of short bugs I move on to the edge of the reef and I start getting in stealth mode .First couple of stringers i notice a few female sheephead and calicos .Suddenly on my next drop I feel my floatline hang up and I think to myself "why the hell did you pick up that gun" . So after pulling the gun through Boomers kelp for two hours and not seeing any fish worth taking home to the wife (she has become quite the fish snob),I head in more shallow ,hugging the reef and doing drops and looking for bugs .A few minutes into it I see this strange looking piece of kelp laying on a rock and I look a little closer and realize it's a Cabezon so I shoot him with my 120cm euro with a slip-tip ( I know , I know ,it's like taking a gun to a knife fight) . He had two crabs and a couple of octopus tenticles in his stomach. Nothing like your first Cab by the way vis was 10 ft in the kelp and 5-8ft inside the reef.

Hows it going fellow Spearo's and Speara's my name is in the title . I live in Clairemont (San Diego) I'm a San Diego Freediver and General Contractor . I currently hunt with a frankinstein 120cm euro .I 've been in the spearo community for thee years and been diving for 2years due to a major tooth and ear infection. I'm a safe diver. To date Ive caught opel eye , sand bass,spotted bay bass, one angle shark,calicos ,one cabezon , lobster, sargo,and scallops . I was born in Carpenteria , lived in the San Fernando vally , joined the Navy and haven't been able to leave San Diego . I've been all over the world and plan to do alot more traveling and Diving. Other than diving Socal Ive dove in Hawaii. I would consider my self a consumptive spearfisherman . I have helped a little with the fight at C.P. and at least get out of the water there almost evertime I dive La Jolla.If you have any questions for me feel free to ask.
