That area is so big.
I feel bad for you guys that have been diving there a long time. Its a shame. -
So much potential with the mummy and sarcophogus..... unrealized potential.
all of the sudden im in the mood for armadillo balls! -
Nice pics.
I carry at least a pole spear with me every dive. It has a flopper tip. I wouldn't even know how to use it to gain an advantage on bugs.
It's great for marking spots and breathing up and of course if you come across anything. -
That is messed up!

buds?
I stopped wrestling with my older brother the day he grew bigger than me. Before that I could just sit on him. lol

That sucks having a brother who is better at things then you, at least that what My brother tells me all the time

Very nice bugs.
scary reading that you pushed the limit to get the big one. Seriously, you black out and you die, no second chances. Thanks for sharing.

What relation are you to bob berry? -
Welcome.
How about a little info about yourself? -
Got in From 8-10 this morning.
Water was glassy and no waves at all.
In the water it started a little cold but ended up being comfortable in my new gat-ku 5mm the entire time. Awesome!Vis was about 10' and even opened up to about 15' near the kelp in about 25' of water. ...and this spot does not hold vis ever! So I'd say the conditions were amazing.
Spent the first hour looking for butts and bugs but there just wasn't any of either. All the traps I came across held plenty of big bugs. I'm sure this was the reason for the ghost town. I did come across 2 lobsters fighting and snagged one which barely registered on the gage.
Hit the kelp up and there were plenty of small calicos. Finally caught a larger one off guard and he is probably the biggest I have shot.
I didn't want to leave but had commitments. On my way in I wasn't optimistic but was still looking up the sand channels. This NEVER happens but just before I was about to call it a day I see the halibut out in the open.
Measured about 25".Get out there if you can.

I will be hitting up either Boomers or Casa, maybe even Marine st or the point (if conditions are optimal) before the meeting starting at 4:30. Hit me up.

Thanks guys.
In the coming weeks would anyone be up for meeting to dive these areas? I'd have no clue where to go.
