Just joined the forum in the hopes to network a little. My name is Will and I am part of a spearfishing Club call the Fl. Freeshafters. I have been spearing by Tank or Lung for 10-12 years now. Our Club is currently putting on a family friendly tournament and we would love it if any of you either participated or just came by to take a look at the Tourney.

The Florida Freeshafters would like to invite everyone to come join us for the 2012 Florida Freeshafter Open presented by JJ Taylor at OBriens Irish Pub in Brandon Florida.
We have made some revisions that we think will make the event even better. Hope to see everyone for a great weekend of competition and fun for the entire family.

Florida Freeshafters Open Cancellation policy
The Tournament Weather Committee will make the official decision on calling the Saturday Dive Day at 1PM on Friday 05/18/2012. The committee will review the NOAA forecast for areas that we have registered shooters in and will post on FloridaFreeshafters.com.Anyone that is hunting an area with a SCA can request a refund by calling the Diver Checkin # (800)-824-2615 Ext 157 and leave your name and area that had SCA.State that you would like a refund. It is the responsibility of each registrant to call and request a refund on Friday 05//18/2012 before Midnight.
There is NO MAKEUP DATE for this event so the Sunday Party will proceed even if the Saturday Dive day in cancelled due to weather. If the Dive Day is cancelled we will have a random raffle drawing for a pick at the prize table for everyone that DOES NOT REQUEST A REFUND by midnight Friday 05/18/2012.
In the event that only some areas have SCA these registrants have the OPTION to NOT REQUEST a refund and we will draw a raffle ticket for JUST THESE REGISTRANTS starting after the 3rd place shooters pick at the prize table and then after every 5 picks.
All other Sunday activities -free beer and lunch for registrants-kids activity room( sharks tooth necklace craft/coloring contest/Wi and XBox games)-bike raffle-prize picks or prize raffle- will continue at Obriens Pub regardless of weather.

Whether you are able to shoot the Florida Freeshafters Open or not the public is welcome to attend the weigh-in and awards ceremony on May 20th at Obrien’s Pub Brandon. Again this year we will have a supervised kids activity room with prizes and giveaways just for the kids, all totally free. We also didn’t forget about the ladies, ladies too will enjoy the festivities on Sunday with a special events just for you. In addition to extras for non spear fishing family members, We have several vendor booths as well displaying their products in an interactive fashion.
We will also have numerous items available for raffle, as well as free beer and giveaways. So mark your calendars’ now and bring the whole family down to see some awesome big fish and join in on all the fun.
