Ok I mixed up 5 oz or 150 ml and only used about 45 ml. Ouch it hurt to waste all that epoxy. It seemed like I was putting it on thick but I guess not enough. The other coats took about 20 ml. It looks pretty good but I am going to sand with 220 and put on a final, 4th coat to try and get it all even.

teak, euro style, 60" from muzzle to butt, Herranen epoxy. I just need an approximation of how much of my valuable epoxy to mix up. Obviously I don't want to run out mid coating but I don't want to mix too much and waste a bunch. Does a 100-150 ml sound about right?
    Thanks, Jim C

Hi all, I just found this site after searching for speargun building advice, for which you have a pretty awesome forum. I live in Grass Valley, CA which is roughly 50 miles east and a little north of Sacramento (gold country). This puts me about 5 hrs from the ocean so I don't get to dive but just a few times a year. I've been diving for about 25 years or so and almost all of it has been on the north coast of Cali. Like a lot of nor cal guys and gals I started diving for abalone and then really got into the freedive spearfishing. In case you are wondering why I have riobuster as my forum name, it's because the first forum site I ever joined was the National Wild Turkey Federation site and so it made sense. I am active on several other diving forum sites as I'm sure most of you also are so I just keep riobuster so people know who they are communicating with. My son Jon and I are getting ready to start our first gun build so I'm sure I will have some questions as I screw things up:)

    Safe diving,
    Jim Christofferson
