really FL's got everything. there are farms, cities, small towns, and islands. if your coming for a beach west coast id recommend venice or maybe naples beaches for the southern half of the state. although with those beaches water vis isnt very good usually and if you wanna dive it be kind of hard without a boat bc to get to good vis you usually have to head off shore some miles at least in my area. east coast id say to talk to these other guys as thats their backyard although id say they typically have much cleaner/clearer water. personally ive lived estero fl my whole life and am 10 minutes from the closest boat ramp. theres awesome fishing and its a smallish town. really i guess decide what kind of area your looking for and narrow your search a little. because there are tons of options

dang. i went to FAU for a semester and didnt have any dive/ spear buddies so i never really hit the water. now im back in estero where youve gotta go at least 15 miles to get to a decent visibility. and even then the upper half of the water columns crap, doable, and absolutely tons of fish but vis is nothing like boca.

awesome, ill definitely find somewhere where i can try some onwhen i get home.ive got at least 3-4 dive shops within 20 min. of my house so i hopefully wont have a problem finding some. thanks for the input everyone

awesome, thanks i dive and snorkel and am trying to get into freediving. i spear during all of these so i am in the water for multiple hours with maybe a couple small breaks here and there. but not a whole lot of sitting around. and ive heard with some if u go much over an hour they'll practically kill you lol. but if u go too soft you dont get the power. so really im trying to find a happy medium. which from reading online the razors may be what im looking for:D

hi im Steven, and ive been researching like crazy about what freediving fins to get as a beginner. im doing all warmwater dives in southwest Fl and the Fl keys. im 6'1 and approx. 205lbs. ill most likely be sticking to dives less than 70 ft. purpose for spearfishing.ive heard tons about cressi 2000's,3000's and have been looking into the mares razor pros, although im open to other suggestions. id like to keep my budget under180$. any advice would be awesome, thanks in advance.

hi my names Steven, born and raised in southwest florida. im 19 now and been fishing both offshore and inshore since i was barely walking. my family and i take trips down to the florida keys(usually marathon) as many as several times a year to fish and usually snorkel/spearfish. about 2 years ago got my divers certification and have been on multiple dives both off of family owned boat and through comercial dive boats. weve been multiple times to the keys mostly diving since becoming certified. i own a mares 95 phantom carbon for a speargun and absolutely love it. ive been really interested in and seeking to learn more about freediving. deepest ive dove on tanks is around 90'.
