I read a great book about growing up in Havana before and during Fidel. It's called Waiting For Snow In Havana. The author was a Pedro Pan child who came to the US and earned a PhD. A good read.

I had a Matrix fiberglass fin break. I spoke with Dennis Hausser from Matrix when I ordered another pair of blades. He said he would replace the broken blade but he never did.

Hi everyone. I just joined and have to say your bikini thread is a knockout! I'm a former member of Broward Longfins and before that Palm Beach Freedivers. Now I'm in the Lower Keys and working as a boat captain and dive master. I have many guns but my first choice is a Marc Valentine 120. The others are Rob Alllens and a Daryl Wong pipe gun. I use them all depending on the situation. Since coming to the Keys I find I don't dive as deep as when on the mainland because you can get fish here in shallower water. Also, I'm getting kind of old and the old saying about old divers and bold divers is probably true. My boat is a 22.5' panga with a 90 E-tec. It's a great boat for freediving because the low freeboard lets me pull myself over the side without bothering with the swim platform or a ladder. It's pretty sharky here and I like to put the fish in the boat after every shot. Guess that's enough about me. Thanks to Rdiver for recommending me. One last thing: I like the bit about including Spanish speaking spearos. I grew up in Miami and learned to freedive from Cuban friends. I always think of freedive spearfishing as a Latin thing, like salsa dancing and media noches.
