I can't wear a hood. It makes me unable to breathe properly. My ears are always sucked in and out and I have to clear at the wrong times and I can't focus and relax. It kills me

I tried to poke a small hole fight over the ear and it floods the suit more than I'd like

Dans advice is spot on. Sewing scissors are often cheap and always very sharp. Fiskers is a good cheap brand

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean it floods the suit? I have a 5mm Riffe and I have a couple holes poked in each ear and haven't had an issue in water down to about 56°. What did you use to poke the hole?

I've tried but just cannot seem to do it that way with my long arms. I'm 6'-5", 220 lbs. Can any of you of similar size remove your wetsuit tops that way?

I'm not quite as tall, but at 5'11" long and lanky I find it easier to roll the top up like this person did, but then flip the beaver tail over and pull the top over my head that way. I also can't get hoods off without sliding them off with my fingers in betweet my skin and the chin (nails toward my skin).

The only issue I can see with the red is that in CA the kelp tends to obscure any color other than white (it is a nice albeit small safety asset when shore diving half a mile offshore with boats). However, I have no experience with the material and how it would slide through the kelp since I've only used a vinyl float line before.

Yep, that method is the easiest, just make sure you do it as soon as the hook goes in. The longer you wait, the harder it is to pull out. Once the muscles start to seize up, it sucks.
Edit to be specific, I was referring to the technique where he used the line to quickly pull it out.

    Hey guys,
Just got I to spearfishing last year. I've been diving since I was a little kid, and have held my PADI open water certificate since I was 12. I freedive weekly, and lately have been spearfishing quite a bit. I'm excited to learn more. I am an avid fisherman, diver, and target shooter, so spearfishing fits right in.

    Have a good one.
