Welcome. Very nice to have you.

Please dive with people who know the waters you will be diving. Freshwater has many risks and with michael's recent passing, they have been brought to the front of my mind

I also LOVE trout. Like sweet little salmon

I'm a big advocate on learning from others so that I don't have to learn lessons the hard way. When I started scuba diving, I spent hours reading incident reports on how others had managed to kill themselves. As a pro freediver, I am very aware of the risks associated with breath-hold diving. However, I recognize that many new distractions, and other factors will exist when hunting.

If the information is available to read incident reports for spearfishing accidents, I'd be appreciative to know how to find them.

    Hi Stick-em,

Have you ever done any hunting in Wade Lake or Cliff Lake up there in Montana? I flew over them in a plane several years ago, and the water looked so inviting I said to myself, "I've gt to go dive those lakes some day". I'm wondering if the hunting may be good there.

Also, I'm not familiar with Montana rules. What can you shoot there?

    Thanks,
    Revan

    Hi Spearos,

I'm in Tucson Arizona. I did some hunting on scuba 15 to 20 years ago when I lived in Seattle Washington, but have not done much since then. I've been doing a lot of competitive freediving the last 3 or 4 years, and I was the US National dynamic champion up until about a month ago. Lately, I've started to get interested in hunting again. I'm thinking it would be nice to try some freshwater for a change, as I'm a big fan of trout. Seems like there are many lakes and rivers in the West that could be fun to try, but I don't know much about the rules yet except that there are many places that don't allow spearing. So, I'll be looking for information on how to find out what the spear friendly states are.

    Cheers,
    Revan
