Thanks for replies. Yea, Dayton isn't by an ocean but it's nestled around one of the best deer hunting spots in the US. Since we moved here 13 years ago, I've taken up archery again and get to fling arrows daily here on our farm and down on our other piece of property in southern Ohio. But, I still miss big water. We have a 3 acre pond/lake on our property that I dive in and the family swims in. So I still get to get wet from time to time. But 25' comes up quickly!
Why would anybody move to Dayton, well other than the hunting, they made us an offer money wise that we couldn't refuse. My wife works and has "climbed" the corporate ladder. I've been retired since we moved here and hunting and fishing isn't a bad way to spend the days. Other than family, some friends, and freediving, I don't miss Southern California at all. Most of the stuff I enjoyed growing up there you can't do anymore or it's just so crowded or expensive you don't want to. It's a big world with lot's of stuff to see.
