i got stung on the tip of my right hand thumb. it was really painfull. incredibly painfull actually. i think it has to do with where you get stung and the amount of venom u get. . today i was looking on the area and saw little cavity , like a white bubble on the tip of the thumb , it seems that was where the bone went in and lst the poison. i cut it open and squeezed it and some fluid came out. the most interesting thing about the experience was that at night i couldn't sleep because of the pain but i was not feeling tired at all even after a whole day of fishing. so i guess the good thing about getting stung is that u can party all night once the pain is under control. even though it is what it is , im not affraid of catching them ~`~`~`~`ers and/ or getting stung again. i'll probably find out if my body can get used to it. on another page. weather sucked but it was an awsome day in the water. :thumbsup2:

well , the first time i got in the water was 8 months after the accident and i didn't really dive. i was just swimming around and watchin the other guys get lobster and stuff. i can't describe the feeling of frustration . beeing in the water ready to do everything but knowing that if i do my lung could collapse again and start all over. a few months later i was cautious but diving again. the thought of it is always present , and it's not helpfull sometimes , but overall i'm feeling great. good things came out of it though , a good story to tell and i'm kind of more carefull now.

thanks alan for this thread. i was meaning to star one like this but never did. las time i went out i brught a pair of scissors and i left them on the boat. whenever i got one i'd bring it to the boat and guille , a frined would take care of it. to much trouble. i want to set up a pouch with the scissors so i can do everything right there and then hang it on the string so i don't waste time. as of right now i can say that lionfish is part of my diet now. they are my second favorite fish to eat and there's no way i'm letting one escape.

well , i don't think i'll do so here , but in my next trip to cuba, i know a place that is frigging full of them , i'd say way to many , and i'll give it a try . i don't think my dad or mom will go for it , but still.....

ramon , no jodas. serio ? they burn like a mother f.... everythime they touch me they burn me like fire, no kidding. but i got to try them and see what they are like. i'll give one to the dog first :D

that iguana looks great . still i would cook it some other way . i ate iguana, but i was really young and i don't remember. not the kind we have here but the one in my country , cuba. my dad would bring all kinds of animals home for the family.
a few years back , i was already like 25 or more i brough a croc home and cooked it, my mom was there and served her a plate with it and everything else . she was kind of disgusted ans i asked, what was wrong. she told me she doesn't eat anything else than chicken , pork and beef. including quail , fesant in the chicken category.
it was a chock to me , because i thought i always saw her eat everything she served me. she was just a good wife doing what the husband asked. i'm glad because like i said before , i've tried a lot of things.

i'm not really fond of any fresh water fish , but ocacionally will eat one or two. not because i heard they taste one way or another but because i've tied almost everything that has crossed my path. the point here is actually , why eat tilapia if i have all the saltwater fish i can eat and more. there's also a couple of saltwater fish i don't eat. triggerfish , for example.

a friend of mine brought me that carp . it was frozen for a few days. wich is not good. but anyways. i ate them carps a couple of times at my uncle's house. he really knows how to prepare them. and except for the bones , which don't really bother me much, they are ok to eat. i'd say it tates good. and to compare. i think tilapia tastes horrible , and i won't eat it.
