Definitely upside down. Good catch. However, there is a slight angle on the tab that raises the butt up. The original owner probably turned it over to lower it. I know I tried that with mine before I removed it for good. The nice thing about the Predator Pro handle is that it is shaped more like the RA handle. It is rounded on the back end, not squared off like the one in the first picture.

You should be able to remove whats left of it by pushing the retaining pin out and pulling out the butt. You can fabricate something else as long as the insert tab is the same as this one. May be a bit costly to do it unless you can fabricate yourself or have a friend that can; or you can replace the whole handle/mech assembly.

Either way, call Mako first and see what they can do for you.

Was gonna say I had one, but that is definitely a different handle. I have the predator pro. Took the loading butt off due to it sitting higher than the mech and hindering line of sight down the shaft.

I believe that handle/mech has been discontinued, so finding a replacement may be difficult.

    Call Mako tomorrow.

OOOOHHHHH.... How do I feel? Well, I feel a little tingly sensation on the end of my nether regions when I see Nina Melo!

Was there something else I was supposed to be paying attention to in the video? Oh yeah...some guy shot a nice tuna:boring1:

Sounds good Keith! We didnt bother getting in the water either! The video was shot by sticking the gun in the water.

I made the mistake of letting my floatline roll out of the boat as we pulled up....it's basically cut in half!

Funny thing is, we pulled upto the rig that the shrimp boat was tied off to after this and we didnt see a single shark:confused1:

It was a very rough start to the season opener! Lots of wind and waves and we pretty much got our asses handed to us getting out.

We made a few drops on the closer rigs and found some nice fish, but nothing like what we have been seeing the last few trips out. I'm sure all the boat traffic had a lot to do with it.

Managed to put a couple nice ones on the boat. They went 16 and 22 lbs and change. Weighed them in at the Hell Divers Rodeo I got first and third in the Snapper Skin Diver division. I also managed to get a nice Cobia that went 38 lbs. But no pics.

All in all it was a great weekend and we got some really great fish:thumbsup2:

    Thanks Judah.

The fish will be completely used. What was not used for chum will be buried in the garden for REAL organic fertilizer:cool2:

John I'm new to the sport and need some instruction from a pro. Seems we have a mutual friend Bo. I've know him for years and he said since he isn't down here you would be the best to learn from. When ever you get a day off and are looking to put a trip together we can go out on a 25' boat. let me know if you are interested in going out.

Get my number from Bo and give me a call. Tried to PM you, but apparently I can't just yet, with you being so new to the site.

I don't usually shoot these guys, but this one was hard to pass! Saw a few that made this one look small, but they were given a pass until this coming weekend;) Hopefuly I will be able to find them again.

This was a solo fish that I found on the way in from a trip last weekend. We are going to be needing some chum for the Snapper opener this weekend which also happens to be the Hell Diver's Rodeo. I plan on winning the "Skin Diving" division this year:thumbsup2: This fish was over 5' feet long and somewhere in the 40s for weight. I'm going to boil out the head and make a jaw set.

Anybody know where I can get bulk material for weight belts. I don't use the marsielles type belt, cant stand them. I prefer the simple compression type buckle. I'm getting tired of paying $20+ for a piece of rubber and I don't need a new buckle everytime. Plus I end up cutting off 18-24" and having it go to waste. Would like to be able to just cut the length I need.

    Thanks.:toast:
