I was able to take my new fins (the fins in the above photos) out to openwater today and was very pleased we their performance. They were very light and provided a lot of propulsion from depth, by far my favorite fin I have ever used. I really like the Beuchat pockets because of the fit. I have a fairly narrow foot with narrow heal and they provide the best fit for my feet, with fins keepers they are perfect. I am big fan of fin keepers and cannot dive with them. I like my feet locked into the pockets. I experienced no cramping but still had a snug fit.

Thanks for the welcome. We normally dive off the middle Texas coast, Port Aransas and Port O'Connor. I have also done some from Freeport (Upper Coast) and down in South Padre (Lower Coast). As a rule of thumb you can hit bluewater closer in from South Padre. The diving can be great in Texas when you can get to bluewater, usually a alot of fish and wide range of species.

Don Paul, we even have a statue of Steve Ray Vaughn here in town.

I have been freediving/spearfishing for over 10 years now. I am a convert from scubadiving and once I started freediving I never looked back. I live in Austin, Texas and primarily dive on the rigs platforms offshore in the Gulf. I think the platforms make perfect structure for freediving, you can dive at any depth your ability allows and shoot fish. I am looking forward to learning from the rest of you guys.

    Thanks,
