Great story!
I was able to go to the Phillipines on several occasions while in the Navy. I was sad when they closed Subic Naval Station as I was discharging. You are 100% correct about the litter. You could hardly avoid stepping on it.
I never got to fish or dive there though.
Post more pictures of the beach and water when you can. Seeing the beach made me a little nostalgic.
Thanks,
Alan

So I am 6'6" and 250 lbs. My suit-coat size is 50 extra long. I wear 38w x 36l pants and usually a xlt or 2xlt shirt will fit.
What kind of wetsuits are available for someone like me?
Thanks for any help.

Perfect! Thanks for the speedy response.
I'm getting amped! -
Hope you guys don't mind me jumping in on this thread but I am in a similar situation as Killian.
I am actually buying my 2nd gun. The 1st was a Cressi 110cm that I found used for $50. It works great but the shaft is very thin compared to other shafts I've seen.
I am pretty much convinced that I am buying a Speardiver Phantom because 1) It fits in my budget, and 2) I have read enough good reviews here to convince me that it is the right choice.
I do have one question however, I read a suggestion from Marco saying "Euros aren't for everyone." I think my Cressi is considered a Euro but I'm not sure. Am I in for a surprise?

Hello All,
My name is Alan and I live in St. Augustine, FL. I fell in love with spearfishing about a year ago during a trip to the Keys. I have a few friends that really enjoy spearfishing and they finally talked me into trying it. What a rush!
I have yet to kill anything big, mostly Mangroves and a few small Hog Snapper, but I am intent on figuring this new addiction out. Heck, if it weren't for my kids who love fishing I would probably sell all of my fishing gear to make room for diving gear and spear guns.
I will upload pics as soon as I can. I don't have any that you guys would be impressed with anyway.
Thanks for having me!
Cheers,
Alan
