Welcome mate, great foundation for a spearo buddy. If you want to be my guest at a Long Beach Neptune
meeting, and meet some locals let me know by PM.

    Cheers, Don

Thanks Don. I may take you up on that soon. Really appreciate it. That profile pic you found is hilarious. My current one isn't showing for some reason. :thumbsup2:

    Welcome to Speardiver.

    Jack London fan?

Thanks, Very much so, I have a 2 in book of Call of the Wild and White Fang. Also donate to Defenders of Wildlife for Wolf Preservation from the sales of my company's products.

Let's see. I'm turning 32 end of this month. I'm a designer and entrepreneur, own an apparel company called MANIMAL, about to start another lifestyle brand in the coming months, just finished up a 2.5 year gig with a corporate company that was sold.

I'm a CrossFit coach by night, have been training for the past 6 years. Big into conditioning and nutrition (health in general). Play basketball every Sunday except when I'm diving. Laid back East Coast guy who has been on the West Coast for the past 7 years, formerly Portland, OR and have been in Long Beach for 2 years.

I've been diving for a little over a year and a half. Started off with a pole spear, did OK in the surf with perches, calico, opaleye and sheephead. Spent most of my time in the beginning lobster diving. Everything has been shore dives. Eventually got to the point where I hit limit every night I went out. Would dive with a buddy out of Long Beach, hit up PV and LB. Buddies slowed down so I started diving alone, and still did well like that.

For the past 8 months or so I've been using spearguns, started with a Riffe Euro 110X, did ok with that but wasn't a fan of the weight and was not interested in holding onto. Got a Wong 55GR Hybrid. That has been a beauty ever since.

Have only shore dived, usually hit it twice a week during fish season, during lobster season I have dove as many as 6 times a week. Really love the chase and challenge. Would estimate I'm around 80 dives in so far.

Most notable catches so far is a 5lb Yellow Tail (small I know), 7lb Lobster, 7lb Calico and a 5lb Sheephead. I dive PV almost exclusively unless we travel down south to OC. I'm always up for a drive for a good dive.

Like many I spent lots of time on spearboard reading everything, watching youtube videos. I've wanted to spearfish since 2003 when I saw a Hawaiin Spearfishing magazine while I was out there for my freshman year in college. When I moved here, I met a guy who offered to teach me so I took it up. He doesn't dive that much anymore so I've made a couple good friends out of LB and PV that I dive with regularly.

I'm looking to learn as much as I can. I'm available to dive during the week or weekend, have no issues pitching in for expenses and helping out where needed. This is a passion for me and something I've always wanted to be able to do. I've got Greek blood in me and I can only hope I'll be able to chase down my roots and become a decent diver.

Feel free to get in touch if you're looking for someone to fill a slot around LA or OC or just want to hit a shore dive with me.

Oh and by the way, I was recommended to this board by a guy who use to be on spearboard and told me about speardiver after the usual shenanigans came up in conversation from the spear board threads. Really not into the immature spoiled diver community i've seen lately. I consider myself lucky to be able to do what I do and grateful for what I've learned. Not interested in the bull.

Thanks for taking the time to read this book. I'm off to PV to chase some yellows now.
