I meant to go, but never made it out. My sole interest was to check out free dive instructors as i'm interested in taking an apnea course. Talk with them, see whom I'd feel most comfortable with etc. Oh and to see women in bikinis, according to Dan I didn't miss much.

    Nice work!!

Alan and myself were out there last week (brought in lobster, jacks, macks, and porgie).. We ran into the same school of jelly fish on the second reef. They were everywhere.

Yea barefoot I feel the rubbing on my toe knuckles.. Maybe I just need to man up? Lmao..

I've been wearing my fins at home, when I'm sitting on the computer, or in my bed laying around.. Kind of crazy I know but I think I have it figured out. I feel pressure on my foot, where my metatarsal meets my phalanges. I have wide feet. Now I'm wondering if a dip in boiling water and stuffing something in there to widen them a bit would help? Anyone suggest brands for wider feet? I hear maybe Omer...?

My water socks are regular 1.5ml, do they sell them thinner?

Dang! I forgot about this thread.

Well the day after I posted I decided to quit. I found a book online that helped me engrave in my brain that im not craving nicotine because I don't smoke. So every itch I'd get would trigger me to repeat to myself over and over "why would I get up to smoke if I don't smoke anyway?"... Have to admit it's working well so far. I haven't fallen off the wagon and I live with smokers. Tonight I'm having a party at my house and will be drinking, probably heavily.. Lol. I'll see how long I can hold it off.. I definitely feel better already.

Thanks for the support and encouraging video.. Ack!

I'll try no socks if I go out this weekend. It doesn't happen much at all, I usually go out on a boat so It's 30-60 minutes swimming jump back on till the next spot. This was my first time swimming off the shore and staying in the water for 2 hours straight.. I went with forum member Alan, he's also a much stronger swimmer than I so maybe I over worked a little.. Today I wore my fins at home without socks. They do seem tight to me. :\ I've had them over a year, a little late to return them :P

Marco, any larger and they would be loose, any smaller and I wouldn't be able to wear them with my water sock... Not really sure what to do.. I bought them at a dive shop and we went through a few sizes and this was what they suggested was best for me.

Dan, the cramps are more from where my toes meet my foot to where the line pointing the Plantar fascia on your image is.. my heel/legs feel fine..

I'm going to go to the shop and try on a larger size of the same fin again.. I think I'm just going to spring for some foot pockets and a carbon fiber in a few months..

Sucks, it cut my dive really short today. :\

    whats up everyone..

did a little shore diving today.. after about 2hrs of swimming my feet started to crap, more specifically the ball of my foot towards my toes. does this happen to anyone else? did soft foot pockets and carbon fiber help? any advice?

Welcome back Frank. As you know smoking has bad consequences, except for the tobacco companies :cash: Lung, throat, or mouth cancer is serious shit. Cigarette smoke contains carcinogens, you never think it's going to happen to you, but when you get it you're going to cry. Never mind freediving, just quit. Smoking is no longer "cool". You'll save money, your breath won't stink, your house won't stink, your teeth and fingers won't be yellow. Kissing a smoker is like licking an ashtray, give the honeys something to come back for :)

Thanks Dan! It's been a while, how have you been? The sites look great! I appreciate the advice, i'm going to work on it. Instead of a pack i'm going to buy some patches and see how I do. I've quit before but damned if I don't start up again.

What's up guys. I'm wondering how many of you smoke, how much you smoke compared to how much aerobic exercise you do and most important what are you breath hold times?

I really want to quit. I know the risks and it's still very difficult to get through my skull.. Looking for some motivation.

hello everyone, i'm a friend of Alan's.. I have no experience spearfishing, but I do get out there with the rod and reel.. I've been interested in spear fishing for a while now, plan to take my first trip out in a few weeks..

i'm 27, father to two beautiful girls, and have the lung capacity of the marlboro man.
