Thank you for the welcome guys. Already feel at home here. If anyone is in the Sarasota/Bradenton area, give me a shout. I would love to learn by observing. Still no gun/polespear/sling as of yet, but plan to purchase a simple pole spear in the near future so that I can participate at the very least.
I have been on SCUBA since my college days, but really got tired of all the gear needed for each and every trip. Snorkel a lot down here as most things to see are fairly shallow <40'. Felt that getting into freediving would fit like a glove for my situation. Plus, with my kayak experience, maybe I could incorporate that into some spearing trips. Just a few simple mods on the kayak and ready to go.
