Welcome aboard Fletch!!....you will find a vast amount of knowledge on this site. Great bunch of guys here. :)

Shawno, I don't know if you're going along with fuzz, but if you're not is that adequate for your fish up there?

Yeah it looks like fuzz and I are in the same boat :D

It does an okay job...As you know...we do not have the same type of fish here as you lucky buggers. I watch the vids on the forum and drool at the type of fish you guys shoot. The biggest fish we shoot around here are 20-25 lbs ( Northern Pike aka Canadian Barracuda's ) Most of the fish are 5 or so lbs. The Gov't really enforces slot sizes for different species and limits are in effect across the Province. I look forward to posting some photos very soon. The ice is almost off the lakes now...1 month to go.

Although I agree the video looks really good in the pool [Contour HD]...it was shot under ideal conditions. The only true test would be to have both cameras on location and shooting video side by side. Just because it performs well in 4 ft of water, doesn't mean it will perform just as well at 30ft or more. Also, the price for the case seems a bit out of whack [ $180 ] + camera...no thanks...that is almost as much as I paid for my whole Hero HD setup.

    Just my 2 cents...

Thank You everyone for the warm welcome. Our season opens on May 03/10. I look forward to contributing more to the forum at that time...until then I will continue to read and watch those amazing saltwater dive vids the rest of the forum contributes. You guys have a great wealth of info here!! :thumbsup2:

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Shawn and I am relatively new to the spearfishing game. I have been an avid fisherman since I was little, but I wanted to try a different take on the sport. I enjoy hunting as well, so this seemed like a natural fit for me. The lakes we dive in here in Saskatchewan tend to be fairly shallow ( most are around 50 ft ) , but cold ( avg. 55F in summer ). I have recently purchased and new 5mm wetsuit from Dan and I look forward to submitting some photos/vids to the forum. All of the fish we spear here are native to our province. Walleye, Whitefish, Northern Pike, Burbot, all and Trout Species.

Feel free to say hello or ask any questions you may have...

    Happy Hunting,
