Dont buy a little one, I had one and threw it over, that was the last time I saw it. The force of the current on the line overcame the floats floatiness.

    Saw this one on spearboard.

Also spearfishing specialties sells one that I saw being used in palm beach(bigtime current) so you know it's good. You make a loop every 20 ft and rig it in advace for 40, 60, 80 ft whatever. A 3lb dive weight was used as the anchor that way it doesnt hang up on anything.

The white and pink ones are easiest to make.

Or make your own with 2 pelaj floats or big float like above, glued together and a recess cut into it to wrap the line around.

What they do is remove about 1.5-2 ft of core, burn the end and pass it through the rope transversly, repeat about 4 or 5 times each time entering about an inch up. Then place the tag end in the rope like an eyesplice. Then tie a constrictor knot under the burnt end and heat shrink the knot.

I've read you bend first then lift one leg up and keep other down. The other leg that is under water is stressed and will in effect provide a "free kick" since it's under water straightening itself out. Combine this with the weight of the leg out of the water. So you get a thrust from the stressed leg and gravity from the leg out of water, which might be more than lifting both legs out of the water.

More than one California fish is like that. They also have the lingcod which has blue or green meat. Lobster sometimes have pink meat but that is because they were getting ready to make eggs.

Stretchy omer with plastic buckle. Mines broke in half, I thought it was the buckle that just disengaged as it sometimes does, but I grab one piece and realized the other half was missing. Good thing I grabbed the piece that had my knife and gun loader. The other half was lost.

I know RA comes in both colors but basically they are the same thing. Real easy to braid on swivels and clips. I made a 60' and a 40' floatline from a 100' line.

I've looked it up and I think you have to buy a whole spool (600') so that pretty much defeated the purpose of making one myself.

Wind is blowing pretty hard right now. It has been increasing in the past few hours and is now at 20mph. I know you like nice weather, keep an eye on it.

We went out last saturday with a supposed less than 2 and had 2-4 with an occasional 5 all day.

I think those tides are called neap tides or something like that. Seen it at John LLoyd also. A1A was completely submerged by the intracoastal.

We only had about 4 inches of clearance for the boat this weekend under a bridge where we usually have no problem. Also interesting was that we saw thousands of crabs laying eggs this weekend as well. Kind of cool to see nature being able to tell time.

My favorite ramp is John U Lloyd I guess. They let boats in 1 hour before opening to the public. On holidays there are lines about 10-20 cars long waiting for opening time. On these holidays I always love the look on nonboaters faces when I skip them all. I had their fish cleaning table set up with zip ties so I can slide a beach umbrella in there and clean my fish in the shade. They also have a creek that goes behind the ramps and you can beach your boat on the sand and they have grillls there as well. Parking is $10 but you can get a yearly pass for $80 if you plan on going more than 8 times a year.

There is also one in the Keys around MM 80. Free, but it's a dirt ramp. Head out straight for 3 Nmiles and always a good time all the times I've went.
