hit it for the nice slack low tide. vis was pretty crappy. maybe 8 ft. on my way out to the zone i saw 2 shorts .... really short. if there was a big fish around it would've ate those things. anyway, once out to the zone the tide started to fill in. i spooked a fish not too far below the surface. the viz was so bad, all i saw was something long and silver swimming away. i tried to drop and give chase to no avail. i swam outside for a bit and swam around in the slight current. no action. good bait tho -- lots of spanish. i circled back to near my earlier sighting. i made a drop and up in the canopy was the telltale outline of a seabass. the fish caught notice of me and tried to sink out. i followed it and it started to disappear! one kick and a long shot -- did i hit it? reel line starts going out ... yes, i did. i put the brakes on this one and it circled and ended up tying up just below me. ditch the gun with the crater float attached. knife to the dome and i pulled that fish up. my smallest fish of the season, a whopping 34 inches. im still pumped .... i havent shot one for a while now. sorry, no photo.

I dove one of the PV spots after work sometime around low tide it seemed. I think it was incoming though. Anyway, vis was good .... until I got to the outside. I swam around in the current for about an hour. Everything seemed right lots of bait, current and water temp. I havent seen this much bait around since seabass season first started out. Everything seemed right, except for the presence of fish. I'd give it a go again .... maybe if i stuck around a little longer something would've shown up. Sorry for a lame report, but I think this helps a little. Sorry no picture of a nice yellow or a sluggy cbass. Maybe tomorrow.

dont be mislead by the "frog croaks" of the sargo. i've been hearing some fierce sargo croaking lately, mainly in the evenings. it sounds like a swamp full of frogs. just something to keep in mind.
