I spit it out upon decent and I can always put it back in just before breaking the surface if I need to maintain eye contact with the bottom or can leave it out to rapidly inhale as I break the surface. An recently I heard that if you blackout with a snorkel in your mouth, when your body instinctively tries to take a breath you will automatically inhale water. A opposed to having it out and your mouth being closed and possibly buying you an extra couple of life saving precious seconds while you are pulled out. Just my take on the matter, not saying one way is better than the other.

Hey, wanted to start a thread on the conditions and fish locations for the FL Keys.

    I was out 7-12 and 7-13.

Both days the conditions were great::thumbsup2:

0-1' waves approx 70' vis. The sun was shining all day.

We fished from Davis Reef to Alligator light and fish was found in the 60-80' range. Not much action in the shallows.

Hello spearo's, my name is Eric. I have been freedive/ Spearfishing for the past 15 years, mostly in the Florida Keys. I enjoy deeper diving in 80-100' but will go where ever the fish are. My father Luis taught me everything I know. He has been diving 45 years and has competed in several national tournaments. We try to dive 1-2 time per week (weather permitting). Hope to meet some of you guys if I dont already know you and Safe and Happy diving to everyone.
