    Hey everyone,

I just joined the forum today and thought I'd tell you all a little about myself.

I started diving about three years ago while I was an undergrad at UCSB and did most of my spearing in the surrounding area and at the Channel Islands. I helped start the Santa Barbara Freedivers spearfishing club in 2008 and made some great friends in the SB diving community while leading the club for most of 2009.

I relocated to the Bay Area about five months ago and since then I've done most of diving around Monterey and Carmel, but once ab season starts back up I'll be making some trips to Sonoma and Mendocino. Since moving up here, it has been my goal to land a lingcod and a vermilion. No luck so far, but hopefully I'll be sharing a triumphant report in the near future.

Unfortunately, my window of opportunity is quickly closing. In September, my girlfriend and I are taking an extended trip to South America, where we'll be living for eight to nine months. We'll end up back in CA sometime after that but the next couple months will probably be most of the diving that I do in the next year, so I'm going to make the most of it.

For now, I look forward to listening and learning from the more experienced divers of this forum, and contributing where I can with my limited knowledge. It would also be great to meet some new divers and organize future trips.

    safe diving,
