Some of the guys took a Freedive Clinic with me , we went over the safety part first, since I know very well they tend to go spearing alone, they leave the ramp in groups, but once in the water they go each one his way.
The 3 of them are now oficially in the 100' club.
Here some pics.
:thumbsup2: congrats

This mahogany is huge, you should have weighted it.
he hit the pan faster then i could pull out a scale, looking at the pic he is over 15" I was measuring fork length.

You cali guys have some ugly looking fish..

Had a chance to try out a set of patho footpockets on my Falcon C4s 30 stiffness, Purchased a pair from Dan and had him install them (thanks again Dan). I had old omer milleniums on the blades before and they were EXTREMELY stiff and waste half of the blade due to not allowing the blade to flex. With the pathos foot pocket more of the blade is used, they are extremely light weight and the rubber is so comfortable you forget theyre on. If your in the market for a set of blades or replacement FP get a set from Dan! :cool2:

also you guys should use atleast 1 block of ice, it keeps the cooler colder for longer then bagged ice
-
nice job, how big is that rib and how does it ride?
-
Cool good to know. I have a 110 qt in my folks garage. I'll test that too.
Now often are you draining it?
shouldnt drain the cooler if its holding fish, the ice/saltwater slush preserves the best

A big decision for me is the hinges on the back. I hate the ones that are on the normal big coleman coolers that are just a piece of plastic that eventually wears out and snaps.
I think "marine grade" refers to the hardware being stainless. I am not sure, though. Also, the plastic would be the same.
x2 thats a deal breaker for me. Yetti coolers are bad ass but $$$$$

I use the tilos gloves from divers direct, they look new after 2 years and were only 25 bucks

Riffe euro series, shoot laser straight and are balanced beautifully

Let me dig in my ashtray for some money, I'm down.
-
I would be interested but not sure if I should take level 1 first

I have a pair of C4's and I can honestly say mine are indestructible, I put them through some serious abuse and have yet to have one break. Never tried the Speardiver but im sure they're also a great fin
EDIT 06/18/2011 - My C4 fin cracked http://spearfishing.world/memb…thos-pockets-cracked.html
-
Once you try a carbon fiber blade you will never go back to plastic. If money is tight though cressi garas have been great to me and take quite a beating too
-
might be a rookie question but ive never been on a yak, how easy is it to get on and off the yak while spearing? I might be interested in getting one for those leave work early days

looking like a good grouper season this year :D:D and you guys are going deep :@

that battery tender is fine, I used the same unit on my boat until I went with the onboard unit which is permanently mounted and wired. I dont know if you have room in your boat but like Don said, its always advised to have 2 banks of batteries one for starting and one for the house battery with a switch to isolate both bank or run both at the same time
