I've had many boats. The best boats I had were ones I bought new. I have spent literally years working on boats of all types. Grinding, painting, sanding, fixing and buying parts for. I have spent days in the water to lift boats off the bottom to the surface with pumps and innertubes and barrels. All this has given me a greater appreciation of those who do have a boat. All this leads me to never wait to be asked for my share from a captain because I fully understand boat ownership. The ëxpenses" most private captains request never covers the real expenses of boat ownership.

    Marco,
I didn't know you got injured until I read this today. Looks like you did a good job taking care of your injuries. Lots of good information you have given us about DIY sea urchin treatment. Good job and very informative post. I hope I never have that type of injury. Thank you for sharing such useful information and I hope you fully recover soon.

    Rolo,
This is the vest I use every day freediving that we tried to translate correctly.

They come in different colors. Mine is all black. It works great. I'll happily answer any questions about this type of vest.
    Gracias

    seahunter49,
I found this video, wish it was me. I remember seeing jewfish like this in holes in the MG in 1975. We used a lot of PPD ammo back then. Ray Odor must have sold a lot more PPDs back then as every diver I knew used them. It was considered dangerous and foolhardy not to use a PPD on fish that big.
The 4th line is just what I was missing. Thank you.

    1. I do not have an pictures of my yak yet but will have some soon as I get better posting pictures.
    2. I will correct the picture size.
    3. I started this thread here just as a test to see if I could figure out how to post my first pictures. Thanks to greekdiver and others the pictures can now be viewed. Gracias
    4. My yak is a Hobie Adventure that I spent months modifying to a 1 man anytime/anywhere freedive/spearfishing yak. I even added 4 wheels to the yak cart so it goes through the soft beach sand. I have my yak set up so that I look like a tourist out for his morning yak ride off the beach. All my gear [flag, fins, wetsuit, cooler, everything] is stored down inside until I get out to my dive spot a half mile or so off shore. And when finished spearing I put everything back away down inside before I go back into the beach. The only one item that will not fit down below is my RA and I have a bag I made to put it into so it looks like a paddle strapped to the side of the yak. I have done this for over a year and no beach guard has ever approached me on any beach from South Beach to Ft. Lauderdale. I spray foamed inside the hull in all the unusable places so that the yak will not sink even when filled with sea water. I filled it with sea water and fully loaded as a test. I used Marine Goop to glue the FF transducer to the inside of the hull.
    5. The fish story is I got off work and yaked out the hour to my spot, dropped the anchor perfectly into the sand at my ledge and slipped into the water and saw fish immediatly in the 40 foot vis. A school of big cuberas came in just seconds after I got the first band loaded and I squeezed the trigger on one of the biggest ones and he just rolled over down onto the reef. He was 24 1/4 inches. The 16 inch hog was swimming straight away when the shaft entered his tail and came out the top of his nose between his eyes. I love my RA 130. I got cold in the water with my 1.5mm but that is all I have left. Lo siento this is so long.

Both the 15x15 and the 15x30 only in black at Bass Pro. I forgot to mention that the nets are in the ATV section and hard to find. I spent an hour trying to find the nets. The ATV section is near the water sports section. Also the manufacture of the nets is; Classic Accessories, Inc., Kent,WA USA 98032.
Got the net on my board but I need a better way to attach it. I'll mess with the rigging after I see how it works a bucea or two.
    Gracias

I went out tonight and found the 15x30inch cargo bungee nets at BassPro shop/Outdoor World on 95 in Davie, Fl for $9. They also had 15x15 for $8. The 15x30 has 8 plastic hooks and the net is 3 inch squares. Looks perfect for me. Got to rig it onto my board now so I can try it out in the morning.
    Gracias Dan for the tip.

PS, Vis this morning [11-5] was about the same as 11-3 off Hollywood, [25-30 vis in about 35fsw]. Seas were light. Almost no current in the morning. Water felt colder today.

This is a good thread for me. One of the reasons I am here is to help me learn spanish. When spearos write in spanish here I try to translate every word to help me learn spanish. Sort of like having spanish speaking spearos teach me spanish. Plus I learn the most important spanish words first, like tiburon and cerveza.:)
