Went out today with Joekahuna in the 954 area.
    0900-1300
    Water was flat and warm
    Viz 35'
    current 0-1knot

it was just one of those perfect days, haven't seen conditions this good on a shore dive (no kayak) in a long time.

    First reef was dead.
    Second reef a few hogs.
Third reef things got good, fish after fish. I shoot a hog as I'm pulling my float in I let the fish hang below me to call in other bigger better things for joekahuna. Nothing should up I stringed him up. Then I see another hog, got him. Load my gun back up start head to the float to stringup and a big mutton is looking at me with that (do I run do I stay look) he turns away about to bolt but it was to slow I hit him. Shot wasn't perfect let him let the gun go and tried to swim up to him and grab him. Then head back to my float with a hog and a 22" mutt.
The rest was just finding hogs and mak's and another mutt.

Also the big hog story, around 24"-26". Went after him for a good 5min's. He Holed up, I took a long shot before he would have time to get to far in. It was kindda like a cave system where I would loose him if I didn't take it. Hit his tail and all he'll broke out. Call joekahuna over, after 10min's of trying to get my shaft out joekahuna finds it kindda coming out of another hole on the other side of that section of rock and tells me there's no fish on WTF. The hog pulled my whole shaft and shooing line into a cave and out another hole the and gets awa. this made me very sad/mad. We serched the cave system for the fish couldn't find it and had to give up. It was a beautiful hog.

iPhone picture, for size the small hog is 13" and the big mutton is 22"

    good day,

lol. I think I remeber once seeing a picture of Alan smileing.

    Great looking fish.

-I'm back in Miami until the 29th if you guys have a spot on the boat.

Alan I agree about the jacks.

    Very nice.

Wow I'm surprised that such a thin section (extended wood part for the loading pad) of wood can take the force.

•I really like the look of the euro type butt pad on a wood gun,
just seems a little scary with how thin it is.

    What band(s) are you using?

    I like this.

Seeing as I need all the help I could get. Will have to try this when I get back in town.

When you say "I get a breath out of the mask" does this feel like a normal breath you would take on the surface or is it more of just a hint of extra o2.

Why did he have his hands in a cooler with ice before the test?

Does it not work if your skin is not wet?

Guess you would just have to get use to cutting wood slower.

It would be nice to see the inventor run the test just like real life with no hand in ice before and as he is cutting wood at a normal speed.

If it really works it's worth whatever price, I don't beleave that $60 safety unit change out but even it's $200 it's worth it compared to the $2,000 or whatever the hospital bill would be.

I also used the Omer abyss for a long while. It's great, field of view is nice, inner volume is nothing I equalize hands free. Diving to 80' I wish I could but for the 39-45' max and shore diving without taking it off for 3-4hrs you don't even feel it.

It really is best to make it out to a store try the mask(s) on. There is no other way to be 100% sure.

    Good luck,

-Also write back with your thoughts on the freedive course. I'm always interested in them. Guess I just need more info on them before I decide to pull the trigger and take a course.

    Larry O M. . .

I have said mask, I also have a small nose and my nose hits the bottom of the skirt. So for those with bigger noses I do not recommand this mask. As always, if possiable to go to your local dive shop and try one out that would be best.

Good luck on your search for the right mask,

If you have no way of checking how much air the gun has. Then start by releaseing all the air and pump it back up, please verify this but I think the norm for that gun is 600-900 pumps?

Wow. I just read all the info on the link to SB.

What bullshit those Mod's are. Love how the same few fukers that would always talk crap ganged up again.

I am unable to respect such "men".

Dan, sucks about the loss. I hope you're able to figure out how to get to these guys them being out of the country really doesn't help. As someone said calling from another number to pose as if making another order may really work.

Not sure how I can help but let me know,

    Welcome to the forum.

About the safety learnt in these classes. How do you express what you have learned to the divers around you on a given day to affect and do you find yourself putting the safety tips into affectas you dive now.

If possiable please start a thread and share your thoughts about the course.

    Welcome,
    .Larry O M. . .

Dan, thanks for the call I'm still in New York I should be back next week. I hope. ..

Looks like the day turned out well and that black looks awesome.
