I'd be inclined to lose the 403 and go straight catalyzed epoxy with the graphite. If you can return the 403 and get some 404 even better. And unless you got the 207 for free, return it and get the regular slow hardener. 207 is clear and pricey.

Microfibers act as wicks that will allow moisture to pass along the fibers. Yeah you get strength from them but if your track is captive in the stock it's not really an issue unless you have a long, thin stock.

Using 404 and graphite, you'll want to go 25% / 75%. The 404 will bulk up the resin and still let the grahite do it's thing and as it's lighter and finer it will float to the surface of the resin while it cures. And here's the thing- you gotta really watch the heat buildup. If you're in an area where it's going to be 70F plus, toss the resin in the fridge for a half hour first. This will chill it and thicken it as well so you'll also have to be real aware of your pour, working the completed our to get the trapped air out with a few good raps against the bench and a consatnt vigil of offgassing.

Using moly would be OK if you could be sure that the stuff was encapsulated and so wouldn't contact the salt water. Since you're going to mill the track after it cures then all bets are off. I'd try to off the moly online and go find some graphite, perhaps the retailer where you got the 105/207 from has the graphite filler and will take the return of the 207.

You want to see a Bull shark come outta nowhere, strum your bands.

I can't say that strumming bands has ever produced a WSB for me, though I'm pretty sure it's scared them away. I've managed to call a few in by croaking but I'm more inclined to think they were there already and I just didn't notice them.

If you have to do anything to bring in a fish, excepting a WSB or a YT, throw up some sand and leave the bands and your vocal chords alone.

I'd be interested in 2-3 140cm shafts, single tab and 6mm thread and a couple flopper shafts if the price and all works. You can send me a PM.

As far as a Bandido, that's Sven's thing, I'd just send him an email and let him know you need whatever and I could pick it up or ask if/when he's going to be in the City or thereabouts to drop it to you. I know he's expecting a new run in the next week to cover the Christmas gift surge.

    Thanks!

No necessario on the 9 mil. If I ever need to strap one of those on it's because I'm on helium and I'm done with that too.
I'm looking forward to getting some ducats together before year's end to pick up that green XXL for the yearly sojourn So of the border for the jurels!

For over and up here a Farmer john just adds some thermal protection. There are guys that do fine with regular trousers and there's no denying that trousers allow a better breath-up.

By my own admission, I learned with no nylon and then with nylon when it came along. My expereience with Lycra has been limited to the 1st and second run of Yazbecks. I found them to be noisy- the material sqeaked when my arms or legs would rub together or brush up against a kelp stalk. I can honestly say that I've spooked fish including one WSB that was bigger than me. Then too one look at a rock and the material would fuzz up and then keep catching on every little nub thereafter. My nylon Picasso's would just tough it out, especially the 9 mil Commercials.

But there's no denying the felxibility! So like converting to the next greatest and latest, I'm OK with Lycra but I'll do it kicking and screaming and because it's all that's out there. ;)

I really like that green camo. I could see laying out on a ledge waiting for a Pargo to get curious and having a field day.

And if you want to put this over in the wetsuit section so this doesn't derail the gun thread, good by me.

    Thanks for the correction, Dan.
I was just over on the wetsuit thread and really like the looks of the suit! Harold is a local didver and tough on his gear too. I've nver been a fan of the lycra, but but I'm not hardheaded enough to have my opinions changed. That green camo looks particularly appealing. Being 6-3 and 215 I'm guessing I'm a XXL. I'm a 58 with a stretch in the Picasso and you can have my Omer's, excepting the one piece 1.5 mil steamer.
Are all the Pursuit trouser style, ie, no farmer johns?

    Thanks.

Thanks, no all I've done with Euros is break them. That is excepting the One 105 I have.
I did dick around with doing some mods but by the time I loaded them up, the warm and fuzzy feeling about the trigger sear was long gone. I really like the One series and my Cubano amigos rave about the RA's.

It seems similar in direction these days where the parts if not the whole thing is from China and moreso on longevity than principle I pass. Shame. I was looking for Riffe to not succumb to the nickel over the penny, but their suits and gear is now made over there. Excepting the Elites by Allesando Picasso I don't know a suit not made in China and now they claim to be making decent carbon fins. Pass.

    No worries Don.

I did something unthinkable a year or so ago and picked up a One gun, made by Sporasub. 105 with all the bells and whistles and it's the go-to tool for a quickie off the beach or on the reef for cabrilla.

Then there's the Hammerhead for up here, the Vermillion tool. Hell for that matter I guess the 1969 Voit Custom, the Ling tool could be a Euro. Maybe I should switch coasts, start wearing thongs...:yeahright:

Hey for that matter and this goes out to the masses, who makes a THREADED 7 mm euro shaft?? Props in advance.

Time to get on ebay and look for Farallon snorkels... best thing ever to come out of that failed effort.

Without stepping on Don's toes or his 8-1/4 on a real good day in 1967 when he had sufficient bloodflow :rolleyes1: he (and I) are fans of high mass guns, meaning they're big and heavy and so absorb the recoil of a large diameter shaft / large number of bands. It's akin to driving a truck with a few bags of cement in the bed versus a empty VW- you smack a speedbump in a loaded pickup you feel a little thud; you do the same in a Dub and you knock your fillings loose. This is why I was saying that you steer big guns versus trying to aim them. You ;earn to drive a truck right and you can do U's on a cul de sac of kelp no sweat.

A lot is made about the benefits of a hybrid and Daryl Wong is a wonderful friend of mine, but to me they're too muzzle heavy and too light in the ass, like my ex. They're ridiculously quick though and for a off the beach gun, you could do a lot worse, like buy a Euro. :laughing3:

4mil/3mil is the thickness of the suits body and extremities, like a 4 mil torso and 3 mil arms and legs.

If you only hit the North part of the State, you got the better half Aaron. :innocent2:

Whites could give a shit if it's 47F and a washing machine, they'll just sit off the pod and wait until one or more get hungry enough to try to squirt through the shallows. The area you might be describing at Jenner is just North of a beach named Salmon Creek that's real popular with the brothers.

    Uh, nope.
    Aquafina?
You're probably refering to my amigo from your other board. He's so not even interested in these boards, it's not even funny. I sent him this link and all I got back was that any board that draws from the same gene pool as guys like MacIntyre or Plossel or wanted mordida from some and gave free reign to others, he'd take a pass. That's putting it nicely.
That WSB of yours went through some of the bigger vac bags! As a first, you might want to give up now and save yourself some grief and go look for YT or tuna.

Yes. If you're in SoCal and they're still in business, RAM chemicals in Pacoima sells bleeder and also the needle roler to make your own out of 2.5-4 mil plastic sheet. As far as cheap absorbant you can split up some disposable diapers or go to a fabric place and buy a few yards of the dead-cheapest felt they have. Fleece is way too spendy for this application.

Yep, familar names fallen out of the years of Xmas lists.
I was a grom but still to this day value being in the water with them. Makes me feel like I did something right when I'm in with my kids.

Yes. If you're working with wet laminates, the vacuum can then be used to assist extracting the air while forming the material around the mandrel. Be careful though to put a wad of absorbant waste material at the vacuum port or the excess resin will back up into the line and then you got troubles.

One other thing that I didn't get into because it'd take a book to go over is the use of bleeder material to evenly apply the pressure to a wet laminate and the absorbant material to soak up th eexcess resin prior to applying the heat for a full cure. Think of the bleeder as a sheet of plastic punched full of pin holes that let the resin squeeze out and get absobed by a diaper and that'd be close enough.
