Brief condition report from yesterday- LJ

  • Managed to get in the water for a bit yesterday with Zenon in La Jolla. The water was a hazy 10-15 ft. viz and was fairly warm (64). At least it felt warm to me but it could have been my new suit. All the usual suspects were around. Looked for some larger sheepies but didn't find anything to shoot. We saw several lobster but didn't get any legals. Waves were non-existent. We got out around dark.

  • Schools of 5-8# sheephead seen just north of Hogans. Enter at Hogans, swim north a few hundred feet, line up on the south end of the white house, (which is north of the tan house). About 100 yards offshore it gets real shallow, like 8ft on high tide. Work the seaward side of these rocks, found a 20# the other day and there were more to be had. Only 9 weeks left to get them....
