Barrier Islands

    Does anyone ever spearfish around any of the barrier islands (cat, ship, horn, petit bois, dauphin)? I am new to spearfishing and trying to figure out places to go. Thanks.

    Depends on what you deem as close. Not going to see much closer than 3 miles or so. By that I mean you will not be able to see. Plenty of fish there, but the visibility is usually 3 ft or so. Rare occasions that it will be better, but that is the exception, not the norm. Other than that, any gas well or public spot will hold fish.
