One more from last week. Vis was nice for a change.

I shot those fish with the Riffe. I have it set up with a rest tab, and the extended butt makes it very easy to use.

Depends on how my shoulder is doing. I switch between a 120cm Riffe, and a Co2 powered gun. (MACO2)

I loved the rear handle arbalete style guns, but they have become impossible for me to load. Gave them away to my Nephews.

I got a Cuda'

Got a few days off to go for Amberjack. The limit is 1 per person, so it took longer to suit up than to shoot our limit.

Got A nice Mangrove. Last trip for a while. Work is about to get in the way of life.

Got a cuda today;

Went for a couple of hours today. No reds, but we got a few mangrove.

Vis was really bad due to the recent storm in Texas. We didn't get any heavy weather in my area, but we got swells from the storm for the last few days. That had the Gulf pretty stirred up.

Still had a good trip

Season closes next weekend, I don't think I will be able to squeeze in another trip. Got things I need to do around the house.
But, now that snapper is over, the Cuda better watch out!

Another....

Last time out for Snapper for this season. Visibility was poor due to recent weather, and the only visibility was at 40 ft. plus depth. And then, it was a dark hazy 15ft.

No problem though, the Snapper were at the flashers when we got down there.

By the way, I don't freeze them, and I don't shoot many. Me and my Sons like it, but my wife does not.

I got my favorite way to prepare them from Marco. Slice really thin, roll in Italian bread crumbs, then fry. (I use olive oil).

My Dive buddy likes to marinade in Italian salad dressing then grill. He puts Tony Chachere's on it while its grilling.

Although I use all of it when frying, the top portion is best for grilling.

One more.

Went out today and had a good trip. Almost stayed home. Forecast was bad, one guy didn't show up, but my old buddy Frank was at the house and ready to go. I admit, it didn't look too promising. But, we had coffee at the lighthouse bakery, waited out the storm, and headed out in flat seas.

Went to one spot only. Frank dove in and assured me that the vis opened up after 10 ft or so. Got some nice reds and mangrove, and I bent my gatku on a jack crevalle.

Thought we would out run the storm, but come across these guys broke down. They were glad to see us. Most of the storm went North, so it wasn't so bad.
