    I enjoyed Kill the Irishman.

I Netflixed it based on your recommendation and I enjoyed it too. I do have a few critiques. First, I like the actor who played Danny Green, but I think he was poorly casted. Did not come across as an Irishman. Also, I love Christopher Walken and although he is shown on the cover, his role was very minimal. Finally, I wish I would have known this was based on a book and actual events. I love the true crimes genre and likely would have read it before watching the film. That being said, I was intrigued by the story so much I may go back and read the book even though I know how the story ends. The guy had some serious stones. Good recommendation, thanks Oh Danny Boy....the pipes the pipes are calling... :D

I'll submit several dozen names with the expectation that my creativity will be rewarded with a new wetsuit. If not, I will write one final post proclaming my departure from this site and how it actually is intended for the betterment of this forum, then I'll logoff into the queerboard sunset to write spearfishing poetry and shore dive for 10" sheepsheads. :D

    Just saying...

    Jason,

I'll have to check on the woman's size, but I have a pair of female long fins that are my wife's. I can lend them to you and I should have a decent mask hanging around. I can confirm this week. Text me to remind me.

I've been spotting them recently up in Stuart and Ft. Pierce. I shot two of them recently and they were extremely tasty. I just cut off the tips off the dorsal and lateral fins then gutted and gilled them while removing their heads. I pan fried them whole and they were absolutely excellent table fare. I'm gonna carry regularly on the boat a three-prong pole spear as it makes it easier to spear them. I would shoot more, but they are usually up against structure and I hate having to shoot so close into them with a fully cocked speargun.

Thanks. I was actually walking over to my son who had a buggie board I was going to use. It has a net sitting atop of it. I was a bit surprised to see the mutton, I actually speared it in the sand between reefs.

Spent the last few days with my family at the beach in north Broward. Most of my time was spent playing dad except for a quick shore dive I was able to make during one of my three day stay. I always follow all the reports of guys on here swimming or paddeling off shore as it reminds me of when I regularly did it nearly ten years ago. In any event, I ventured out not expecting much, but managed a decent assorted catch. Viz was very good on the first reef and a bit hazy on the second with tons of jelllyfish. Also saw a few big Ceros cruise by, but did not allow me a shot. It was fun to get out, exercise and come back with a few spoils of my labor. I wish I was able to do these shoredives up this way, but the conditions are just not that practical. A few pics....

Rolo: The fish were taken over a 100 ft wreck. One above and the other below. That's why they're so unrelated. ;)

I figured. Did you have to dive all the way to the sand to get the black or was he on the deck or up in the water column.

Very cool thread. Please keep us posted on how it goes and certainly once you spear any fish over there. I would love to dive in Alaska someday. What are the spearfishing regulations like over there? Do they allow you to spear salmon? Cod?

...but wanted to post here to share with you all. Emil and I went out recently and had a great time on the water as usual. We've been venturing out regularly since I purchased a new trailer and have landed a few gags and other quarry. However, on our last trip, Emil shot a monster AP. When he swam it to the boat, I initially thought that it was a 50 pounder. We had no idea at the time about world records and we kept on fishing where I later landed a puny 37 pounder when compared to his. Both fish did not fit in my 150 qt cooler and it was exposed to sunlight for the next several hours. Once we finished our day and got to my house, Emil went on his way home and called later telling me that the world record was 43.6#. He came right back to my house and we placed it on a very good scale I have here and it was over 47# despite never being iced properly. Emil then went on a hunt throughout two counties for a venue with a certified scale. From Port St. Lucie, to Stuart and finally Jensen Beach, he traveled with a fish for several hours and finally received a certified weight of over 45 pounds and now a pending world record.

All paper work has been submitted and now the waiting game. This fish was likely just under 50 and lost alot of weight during the course of the day. This was the second world record landed off my boat and it could not have happend to a more humble spearo and more importantly close friend and dive partner. Congrats Emil!:thumbsup2:
