Anytime Chief. Dan has done a great job in allowing others to talk about other products. Spearboard has gotten ridiculous but can you really blame them? They're getting paid to either sell or push certain products. They obviously don't want competition.

They are also in a position of power where they can quickly eliminate any conversation about a competitor product by deleting a thread or post. They purposely feed their forum members exactly what they want them to read.

Just like anything, things get more complicated once money gets involved.

It is what it is. You have to realize that this is a business for them and a forum for you. The only way to have a forum with no censorship is to create your own and purposely plan to not have any financial gain from it. I understand their reasoning for it. If I owned a forum and was making money from it I might be tempted to do the same.

Forgive me, Guy Skinner may be a great guy but I've seen the changes to JBL and they're still of bad quality (material and design). By no means do I think that I could do any better, I couldn't.

They may not be as terrible as when he first bought them, but they're still not impressive by any means.

Then again, there is always a market. I bought a JBL when I first started spearfishing because I was a broke student and the gun was cheap. The JBL was enough to get me interested but I knew from common sense that it felt like a piece of garbage in my hand compared to the more expensive guns at the dive shop. The JBL served it's purpose but once I knew that I enjoyed spearfishing enough to make the investment on a more expensive gun, I did just that. I bought a more expensive gun (Riffe Comp 2). This gun was a quality gun and as I needed more, I went out and bought the Riffe Comp 3 because I was so pleased by the quality and reliability of my Comp 2. I never looked back at JBL.

This goes the same for cars. There are some people who can't afford something nice. There are some who need a car for the purpose of getting from point A to point B.Geo Metro's don't look attractive but people who can't afford anything else buy them because they have to. However, the second they can afford something better, they forget about Geo's right away.

I haven't seen this one in person, but this is the first design out of JBL that looks half way decent. However, the fear of ending up with a crap product still scares me enough not to buy it.

I wish them only the best of success, I'm just someone who is too weary of their past products to make the investment.

My next gun (not that I need one and can't justify the cost right now) would either be another Riffe or one of Speardiver's Carbon Fiber guns.

I haven't used these, but I have used JBL in the past. Call me old fashioned but if I invest in a crap product I'm going to refuse to give a company a second chance.

That being said, I have no interest in this and will stick with my Riffe. Riffe has such great quality and customer service. I'm not in the stage of life to be blowing money on unnecessary things but my Riffe is tried and true. I know I'll have it forever without a hiccup.

Kudos to JBL, it looks like they've made a nice product. Unless someone gives me one, I won't be using one. I won't be buying it. :/

Eli, I want a new car maybe I can take you with me to look at cars. I loved your last post! :laughing3:

RedTide: If you're a car dealer, I apologize before I write this post. As in all walks of life, there are good people and then there are shitbags. You may not know me but I know of you and have only the utmost respect for you. This is only my experience and if you are a car salesman you're probably one of the good ones but my experiences give me a bad taste in my mouth and make me defensive with all of them including the good ones.

I bought an Infiniti G35 4door Sport in 2008. As I was shopping for it, my co-worker tells my wife and I that her husband was the sales manager at a local Infiniti dealership and told me to meet with him. He did the usual that most car salesman do. He smiled and tried to charm his way. He gave me his "word" that he would take care of me and would give me the "best" deal because I was a friend of his wife.

Unfortunately for him, smiles and charm don't mean anything to me. I did what I usually do and emailed 5 local Infiniti dealerships on a Monday. I told them that I would be purchasing a car by Saturday and said that whoever gave me the best price by Friday at 5pm would win. All dealerships were included on the same email and all fought for the business.

After all was said and done, the sales manager who was the husband of a co-worker of mine. The same person who gave me his "word" and who said he'd get me the "best" deal only hesitantly matched the best offer I got because I told him that I was dissapointed that he didn't take care of me like he said he would. Like he "gave me his word" that he would. He matched it but gave me an ultimatum that the offer was only good until that Saturday. I politely told him to go F himself and bought the car elsewhere. I felt bad because my wife and I loved his wife and thought only the most of her, but her husband unfortunatelywas nothing like her. (I guess opposites do attract lol)

Sorry, every car I've bought is new and most salesman are shitbags.

The only positive experience I had was at Acura of South Florida where an older gentleman sold my brother and I brand new cars. He gave us a price and told us we wouldn't find it anywhere else. He was right. Kudos to him. We bought two cars and sent 5 more friends to buy cars from him.

Not all car salesman are shitbags but most have been in my experience.

Just like the dealerships that put decals on the cars with their dealership name, or the license plate frame holder with the dealership name. I tell them to take that sh*t off unless they're going to pay me to advertise for their dealership. I feel my blood boiling so I'm going to stop writing lol

Can I come see it? They look beautiful!!!

Now that I see the date that this thread started I may have already seen it. Is this the same wood style gun I've seen or did you just get these? If its the same one I've seen I need to pay more attention to it next time I see it. I've been too fascinated by the carbono gun
