Reminds me of my hunts in the seaweed jungle, sometimes it is like shooting fish in a barrel. The seaweed jungle is a shallow bay behind an outer reef that after storms fills up with sheets of busted off kelp, Neptune’s necklace and other fronded seaweeds that hang in curtains so that swimming through it is like going through an underwater haystack. Ambush predators hide in there to attack schools of bait fish and invertebrates while I hunt them. For this I use my Taimen as I can thread it through the vegetation as I slowly wind my way through the halls and rooms created by the weed and the slightly undulating bottom. Great fun and the only menace is the occasional ray that is as large as a small carpet in terms of swimming too close over the top of them.
Unlike the old guns the new ones float after the shot, especially the mid-handles which before were always sinkers. I started out with a Nemrod "Comando", brand new as it had just replaced the "Goleta" which preceded it.

New acquisition?

For use in cave or dirty water small fish. I had a similar Nemrod Clipper mid handle and threaded tip ...

As a rule for south Florida spearfishing I use 7mm shafts. I find 6.5mm shafts to be faster but they also lose momentum quickly over a short distance, resulting in not enough penetration on bigger fish. Using 7.5mm and 8mm shafts the speargun feels a little heavy, and they're harder for me to straighten if bent. But there's a right time and place for all shaft diameters. I want to share some loosely relevant experiences that may educate and influence someone's choice of shaft diameter.

R.I.P. Rest in peace.

You were probably dealing with Mike Dams (the founder/original owner) and his wife who knew their stuff. The Dickinsons bought Florida Freedivers from Mike a few years ago.
Yes, it was with the old owners.
After reading your experience, I believe that I never have more contact with that store.
Selling is easy, making a name is the right way.

you even mounted the gopro on the roller. Do we have videos to look forward to?

Not really. In the videos Jose posted above you can see that's about all the gun is good for.
Maybe for lionfish, sling does a better job.
I could think that I would use it to finish off cavern groupers, but in the meiterraneo they do not use it

Hahahah 😀
Thanks for the tip, this is cheaper than any neoprene gloves.
I am thinking to glue a piece of EVA foam (like mousepad or flip flops are made) on the but of the speargun to make it softer to my chest when loading?
