That fish is so colorful, looks it belongs in tropical waters. Awesome scenery.

I can make 9mm open cell suits. Would be nice to keep your reports coming for another month or two :)

Must be nice, you don't even need a cooler for the fish!

Can I take you up on that 9mm suit offer? Matching gloves and boots would be amazing.

Now that's this is ten pages I think I can derail it.

I don't know anyone that takes a double band gun and makes it into a roller with the same diameter band. Usually they go the next size up say 18mm or 20mm. And i'm pretty sure the debate lies in the fact that a roller gun is better than a single band gun.

Did you have an MVD roller on freedive store? I'm interested in two for my two single band rob allens

Literally I don't think anyone here can speak for stronger currants, bigger fish or being weighted for a 7mm wetsuit and 15lbs of lead and using these fins.
3 friends have these fins in pathos pockets and medium soft blades...c'mon why all the hate?

well I haven't seen a post on this VERY specific thread about a fin breaking.

I also know I bought my pair in May 2012 and only from a solid diver whom bought his at least 24months prior to my purchase. Therefore 2+2=you've sold these longer than 24 months:crazy:

Ive never met you Dan, but I know you have strong feelings about things and are very adamant about many other things. I must be one of the lucky ones because I recommended your fins to other people and they LOVE them and your comment about diving in heavy current with big fish is the definition of what we do up here. Ive seen my buddys leader fins snap in person from jumping off my boat. I do that all the time the same way and never had a problem

To conclude, I disagree with you and its still my opinion that blade material and composition make for 80% of the performance and the footpocket is just the coupler or transfer case to mate the fin blade and human foot

i have had 5 of those knives you have in the pic and love them. They load pneumatic spearguns too with the holes they have predrilled.

    nice catch BTW

If your using only Euro guns its easy to carry the next size up, a tuna gun sucks to carry no matter who/where you are and they get substantially bigger as you add cm

Ive come to love my 120cm when everyone has 100cm guns ect. when your good/comfortable..whats an extra 20cm? You shouldnt be making long sweeping swings like skeet shooting...that would be the only way to notice the extra length

my dive buddy bought this jacket (sweatshirt made of 2mm neoprene smooth skin) at the begining of last season and swears by it. Seems to have all the benefits of a similar slick skin suit.

Check it out, you throw it on like a rain suit. but its way more badass
Hyperflex Playa 2 mm Neoprene Hooded Jacket with Harness Zipper, Black/Red

Dan, is there anyway to get a small batch of smoothskin suits to test or add to the lineup? And its funny how i hear they are more expensive yet they are basically raw neoprene, no lyrca needs to be added. Wondering if you can shed some light on the manufacturing costs/availability

i bought these fins 10 months ago with the pathos pockets and this combination is not even in the same league as any fiberglass/plastic and carbons ive owned before. Super light package and you can tell Dan used the very least amount of epoxy and kept the blade super thin and reactive. one thing is the fin rails came off after a few months. I cant even look at my fiberglass fins and i cringe when i see my Gara's.

The guys who do use 7mm suits in the US as a rule are diving in conditions that would be too rough for a smooth cell exterior suit.

Just thinking outloud, i believe there is a misconception here...
North Atlanitc states are rugged, filled with hills, cliffs, boulders of granite ect. However, beneth the surface is a different world. All the rocks up here are covered in sponges, kelp seaweed or all three. And im sure in Cali its similar.

check out the beginnig of this vid of mine

I dont think i need to show you guys how sharp and rough the bare reefs are down south! ouch

point is i am all for a smooth skin suit being added to your lineup! that instant dry feature is ideal for experienced(carefull) spearos up north and i have been using smooth skin gloves for the past three seasons and they are actually lasting as long as lycra coated gloves used in years prior.
