Dennis
are you talking about a Shooting Chrony type chronograph?
I ask because these choreographs run under $100 and if some one was willing to shoot there guns(with out line) above water it will still show what we need.

Roller
2x22" bands plus 2x2" wishbones
42" top from notch to roller
30" bottom hook to roller
So 22" elongated to 70" = 318%
Force x 2 pulled over 42" length
Therefore, 84" of pull.
Sorry I guess I'm missing some thing. Where did 2 pulled over 42" come from? 70-22 is 48 so wouldn't it be 96" of pull? Just trying to follow thanks.

Will the gopro Hero 3+ water housing work for the original gopro as well?
I don't think so. The newer gopro cameras are smaller than the old ones. Might be time to upgrade. All my new videos are shot with the 3+ black

You have the original gopro with the bubble lens? If that's the case yes the flat lens is what you need. I had the same issue a while back.

Using a medium view instead of the wide will also help fish look a little closer.
Congrats on the first lobster! -

Nice fish. Thanks for sharing the videos.

Was that a king crab at the end? Thanks for sharing.
Yes it's a young red king crab. Iv seen a few while scuba diving but he was the first while freediving. Legal size is any thing over 7" carapace width. He was way to small so I put him back.

Here is the crabbing video I promised. I cut out a few dives on a couple different types of crab from the hour plus video I shot that day. My gogro was pointed down so missing most of the action, but I thought it still worth sharing. This was also my first time in the water with my new Oceanic f10 v3 dive watch, I'm really liking it over my old suunto mosquito so far. Thanks Dan!

I've never tried it nor known anyone who has, but heard the meat looks and smells bad. When I see pictures of it on the hawaaiin pages and forums it looks dark and mushy but not as bad as floridians had described it to me
It's that reason I try all fish and ignore what others say unless it's a recipe. I found most people don't have first hand experience on odd/trash fish and are just repeating what they have heard. Everyone has different taste so it's worth finding out for your self.

The spring could fit behind the spike the latch threaded to fit in the spike to make assembly easy.
Sounds like you'd be making a spring assisted gate latch with a sharp point. -
February-28th
After a few months me and fatty finally made it back in the water today. We decided to keep it simple and go crabbing.
We've been having an unusually warm winter with almost no snow! Still the water was 43F and very clear except for the slightly colder fresh water on the surface running in to the cove that made the surface very cloudy. We spent two hours in the water and ended up doing well, getting over a dozen dungeness and one red rock crab. I also found my first red king crab while Freediving, but he was way to small and I had to release him.
I took some video and will post it later once I get a chance to go threw it. -
Welcome. Holy crab!!

I already did it, two years ago actually. The results are this thread. I was just so disgusted with the whole thing I disassembled the gun immediately. These are pics of the gun I built.
That sucks to bad you didn't have some numbers and video from your build.
Any one else going to try?

One rail gun and a roller muzzle is all you'd need. It wouldn't take long to swap out the muzzles
Well and bands for each muzzle type. -
Ok so who's doing the tests? Lots of interesting info but I don't see it winning any arguments. Seems like it could be a fairly simple test setup if some one has the time.

Welcome. We like any pics of fish with holes in them!

Welcome. Love how clear the water is. Nice video keep them coming!

I'm just jealous. I was in Fort Lauderdale for two days February of 2012 and I did go swimming. Was the fist time feeling sea water that warm. It was nice. I will make it back some day.

Iv only use 7mm for year round diving in southeast Alaska.
Summer surface temps run from 50-60 depending on how open the water.
Winter surface temp around 40F
Water at depth usually in the upper 40s year roundTemp 55+F I flood my suit to cool down
Temp 45-55F suit is perfect spending many hours in the water.Temps below 45F my hands and feet go numb in about an hour forcing me out. (Using 5mm gloves and socks).
The reason I don't use a 5mm suit in the summer is the cold water below 30-40' and the fact that a suit gets much thinner at depth, limiting its insulation.
