There's footage of a guy sailing the Greek Isles with his kayak. (Utube),another option is the Hobie, very efficient.

For the money you spend on a pwc you'll be able to get a decent small boat. 2.You're able to launch a kayak from everywhere, some kayaks have been modified with a small engine. Check out kayaksail.com or u tube. These sails cost 2-300 bucks and yakkers use them all over the world, the best ones made by the kiwis (NZ) and are very simple to use. Just an idea!

This is a buoyancy test I did with the old Rob Allen 11L hard (foam blown) float. Buoyancy is minimal at 21lb in saltwater, but in my experience it's fine for bottom and pelagic fish up to 50lb. The 11L float is now discontinued and the new 12L Rob Allen float replaced it, increase in buoyancy is most likely minimal. The new 12L overblown model is the one I now use. It comes with a ballast ready for a flag. The overblown float will righten itself when turned on its side much better than the regular version, as the new model Rob Allen floats no longer have a round profile.
Hey Dan ,is that a saltwater pool? ☝

Maybe your aim is amazing at long range, but you keep shooting with those toothpicks so you wouldn't know [emoji22] [emoji1]. What's the excuse now that you live in Panama for not getting a wooden gun? Or pulling out one you already own?
X2:thumbsup2:

Hi, I'm Rob!
I've never had the opportunity to use any freedive gear but I'm ready to get some and start diving locally with buddies whenever and wherever I can. Also, I'm an avid scuba diver with AWO/Nitrox certification, working on Rescue. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to pursue it further due to not having a car at the moment. I was going to rent but then I found Uber was more affordable and much better than the bus. I'm currently without Wi-Fi till I work it out with the best company in the world...Comcast! :laughing3:
...at least, I still have my data plan.
I'm looking for a buddy who is safe but doesn't mind a little adventure and murk. I like to explore the bottom of lakes and the unknown. I'm definitely a supporter of sidemount and will definitely be training for it in the future. :diver1:
The idea of killing marine life except for spearing those pesky lionfish is unappealing to me and I'd highly prefer not swimming with a spero when I'm freediving. I'm not into the whole competition deep diving side of it either though I welcome any knowledge from the community spearo or otherwise. :thumbsup2:
Happy Diving!
You have to work on your navigation skills, especially when using www

I have 2 differend size fish bags and they're quiet awesome! Mine where made in North Carolina and are very rugged. Engel makes some good fish bags too and they are in PBC. I use them in my Kayaks and also as a drink cooler on the beach when out with the dogs. Very handy to have and easy to transport. The biggest fish bag I've seen fits a small adult in it,quiet impressive.:)

It's hard to monitor for us because we have to travel 15 miles out to the barrier reef, but we don't hit any spot more frequently than once every month or so. What we don't know, other than by observing the fish behavior once we see them, is how recently someone else was hunting there.
If you dive in front of your house on the same spot every day the fish are very familiar with you.And as you mentioned, more than a few times I've shot a jack or some less desirable fish, and as I'm taking it off the shaft and gutting it, three large cuberas or dogs will swim right up and watch, almost at arms length. But as I reload, they go, "uh oh.."....and are gone in a flash.
The Philippines is different because the fishing pressure there is as intense as anywhere. 80 million people in an area the size of Arizona.....and they love to eat fish. I have watched Jake dive down there....40 feet or so, and EVERY fish just bolted in all directions. EVERY ONE. Amazing.
Oh, mirrored masks may be good for clear, blue water hunting, but looking for fish at 50 to 70 feet down....can't see them. I have a mirrored mask that is still like new after......7 years? Never gets used.
I've had a Riffe mirrored mask once and used it only a few times to be retired as a shaving mirror later, lol I know all about pressure on fish from my times in the Pacific islands. Why don't you keep your fish scraps and guts and "teach" your fish! Select a spot where you know thats not so popular with local fishermen and start going there same time every day and feed your scraps and dont shoot them there for a few weeks and soon you'll having a gathering. Again, feed them your sraps same time every day for a few weeks, after that I would feed 6 days and shoot a few day 7. I practiced it with good success in heavy outf fished areas. Good luck.
