They're one of my favorite fish to eat but I rarely encounter them. I've heard them called "fancy jack" by fishermen, and the name fits...

Nice fish, nice shot placements:)
I took a nice red snapper (in Thailand) which swam right out it front of me from under a boulder. Wasn't even about to look under that one and I don't think I had spooked him. Our paths just crossed by coincidence:D
Weather wise, here in Shanghai the PM2.5 Air Quality Index has been above 200 lately, which is considered as "Heavy Pollution". People wearing masks outside:-(.
I can't wait to get out of here and get to an ocean holding some fish!
I hope you get out somewhere soon! Similar story with my fish.

This guy almost bumped right into me, I couldn't believe it.

I started a new job which only has me free on weekends and like a lot of you I've watched the weather turn to absolute crap every Friday afternoon for the last several weeks. I managed to get out the last two weekends and did ok. Shot both of these guys in crap vis.

Those are some serious fish! Thanks for sharing.

I've tried several band configurations on my phantom and I like all of them for different reasons. One of my favorites was a 6.6 shaft and dual 14's. That was a lot of fun. I just put a 7mm pathos shaft and small ID 14's stretched to 360% on it. Can't wait to try that setup out.

I've beat the shit out of mine twice a week for a year and they're still going strong!

I've had a few and would recommend you check out the headhunter predator if a 9' spear will work in your diving conditions. Sometimes there's a good deal on Craigslist just keep your eyes open.

Saw one in boca on the third reef. He was not shy. I almost made a post about it.

That's a tough break man. I cannot say I know how that feels but I hope you bounce back with even more motivation to get out and hunt. Thanks for sharing.

Always neat to see Spanish macs instead of Ceros
I was thinking the same thing. We saw tons of Spanish on the reef and they were swimming very eradicly. But, those two in the pic and a small king were caught by my friend trolling on the way back to the inlet. We're probably going to add a second rod holder so we can troll two rods at once... As if my tiny boat didn't look ridiculous enough. I've got a funny video of him bitching about my boat as he's landing the little king haha.

I hope some of you got out this weekend down south because the reef was jumping. Tons of fish and good times with friends. In case you were wondering if hogzilla is still out there the answer is a definite yes haha. He's a smart one!

At blue heron bridge the water can be crystal, and I've seen eagle Rays in 4 foot of water at the ramp. Technically the intercostal.

Just wondering is that a little inflatable with a 9.9 horse on the back? Did you go out of port Everglades or Haulover with that? Also don't think I've ever seen a dog snapper off that area, do you know how deep you were diving? Anyways nice fish
Sent you a PM
