the water on the lense of your housing, that really pisses me off all the time.
its been i while know that i ve been told there is a spray on the market, once applied on the lense the
water will run off clean as you take the housing of the water. allows clean pics right away.
up to now i never was able to find out where to get that spray. anyone ever heard about it ? -
man thats a huge mangrove. the biggest i ever got was maybe 5-6 pounds.
i didnt even know they can get that big. -
thats a nice bug attan. sure looks like 5 pound to me. how you catch it ? are you allowed to shoot them in
PR ?
try to learn how to upload pics in the forum. its not that complicated. would like to see some more of yours and your friends catches.
all the best -
:thumbsup2:congrats anthony.

i am glad for all you that you find time and conditions to do some diving.
very nice pics ! looking forward to see the vid.
believe you mentioned it before, but what cam and housing you use ?
are these batterys normal/or rechargeble AA or AAA"s ? or the one rechargeble that comes with the cam ?
wich mode you use for the filming ? 480-620 , 30pics per sec.? -
very nice fish.that is a big yellow jack. i also seen them now and then resting under ledges. in what kind of environment/circumstances you got the cobias ? was it a beach or boat dive ?
-
and i hate it when i jump in the boat, grab my underwatercam to jump back in the water to film the biggest
whaleshark/manta/whatever , and when i press the powerbutton the display turns black and tells me
"change the batterys". even i did put brand new batterys in the same morning.
dont know why this happen now and then. -
i dont like safetys on spearguns. first thing to be removed.
-
before i jumped on the plane i made two quick dives again.
here some pics from last saturday. was very lucky with the dogteeth, was a very jumpy fish and i had to shoot fast. hit it in the belly but still got him. was a barra day anyway, the water was green and they came out of nowwehre to check out my gun. i had to stop diving after half day because of engine troubles .
day still turned out great. greets -

nice fish. why you did not use a back-up-gun while searching and retrieving the injured fish ?
-
hey michael,
great to have you here. now you have have to get a camera to show the pics of your catches from macrepe
and chaguaramas. greets to brian. -
get a nice mixed bag yesterday. a nice 10pound hoggie again.dont know where they all come from these days.thought i should post some of the pics.
just take the opportunity to do that, because i will leave the island for a while.
so my next catch pics will take a while. as well i dont want to occupy the
" latest dive report" section too much.
looking forward to see some more dive reports/pics from all you.
all the best.... -
hi man,
nice pics.was you spearfishing in this place ?when you say really large porgies, how much pounds are they ?
and schoolmaster well over 10# ? is that 10 pounds or inch ? -
hi dan,
all i know is that the mask was cheap, for down here. about 32.-us. i will try to ask him about the brand. -
-
btw,
i thought i should share some pics of some of michaels equipment. just recently i realized that i miss the great opportunity for years to take pictures of all the local divers and some of their amazingly created and modified equipment. it always was, and still is very hard to get spearfishing equipment here, and for lots of the local divers who spearfish for food and/or a living its often not affordable.
weightbelt cut out of a rubbermat,
as a cyclist i specially liked the rubberpatches on his fins.
his home build gun came out a bit heavy, but does the work.
the fiverglass work on the mask holds up very well. -
hi lb,
the gun looking nice.i really like the mundial handle. never gave me problems for years.
i had the mundial for years. once the muzzle broke, the part that you cut off to make it a open muzzle.
so i had the open muzzle accidentily. i cut the original spear to weld the part that fit into the handle to a old riffe spear, so i could ty the line to the sharkfins, and i also like to use at least a 7mm spear and most of the euro spears come in 6 or 6.5mm. but last year i found the tarpon spear from h.dessault.
7mm,3 minisharkfin and a very good 8.5mm barb. since i got this spear i reinstalled my old mundial recently
for backup. btw, i also would use mono before some soft line.dont have to be 400p. 390p will do.

we didnt leave too early that day, but came in after sunset. i like to hunt the hour around sunset,
just before it gets dark.
